From among the countless pieces of equipment, Eil took out something like a single seed.

The thrown object struck the hobgoblin and fell to the ground, then instantly extended vines that wrapped around it.

“Gia!?”

“Carnivorous plant Plakano. It won’t come off easily.”

The hobgoblin tried to tear away the vines entangling it, but in the meantime Eil had already taken out two bottles.

One contained something like red sand, and the other something like black liquid.

“Prokia’s heat sand, Volcanon volcanic gravel solution…”

The two bottles rang together with a sharp kiin.

Eil poured the black liquid into the red sand.

What formed was a thick substance that began glowing red.

“Done! Take this!”

The thrown mass intensified its glow just as it neared contact with the hobgoblin… then exploded with a tremendous dogon sound.

The hobgoblin collapsed without even managing a scream… but at the same time the vines wrapped around it burned away as well.

However… the hobgoblin did not stand back up. Had that last blow killed it?

“E… eh…?”

Leaving the dumbfounded Kuon as she was, Kikori cautiously raised his axe and approached the hobgoblin… then lightly brought down his Magic Axe.

“…It’s dead.”

“How is it? Amazing, right!”

“Yeah, amazing. But… how should I put it, it seems really expensive.”

“Ugh.”

Heat sand, solutions, dangerous seeds—there was no way such things just lay around for free.

Unless they were procured locally, Kikori thought they would cost quite a lot of money.

“B-but! Seeds can be cultivated by myself, and it was pretty strong, right!?”

“Yeah. Honestly, I was impressed.”

“And if I’m around, I can appraise herbs and even synthesize medicine on site!”

“Ah—that might help me save magic power too.”

Once Kuon said that, the conclusion was basically decided.

“Then, unanimous agreement. Nice to meet you?”

“Y-yes! Nice to meet you! Ahh, thank goodness! My lodging fees were getting dangerous!”

“Couldn’t you just make and sell medicine…?”

“By myself I’d only end up in the red.”

She was probably the type who showed her true value by teaming up with someone.

Kikori understood well since he had tried gathering herbs himself.

Unless you went fairly deep, there wouldn’t be any herbs worth collecting.

“…For now, today’s goal will be herb gathering.”

“Sounds good.”

“That helps…!”

“But we need to properly discuss and decide the shares.”

“Yeah, that’s true.”

“Please go easy on me…”

Since consumable costs would weigh on the party, it couldn’t be avoided… and so, the alchemist Eil newly joined the party.
