“Eh…”
“Wha…!”
Kikori and Orphe turned around and looked up.
At its sheer size, Kikori’s eyes widened without thinking.
Its enormity could only be described as something completely different from the wyverns they had slaughtered until now.
The pressure it gave off was incomparable as well.
Could it be a dragon? No, it was different. He understood because he knew the real thing… Volcanion.
This was not a dragon. And yet, he did think it was like a dragon.
He did not feel the same sense of despair as with Volcanion.
But even so, it was strong enough for him to feel despair.
“This” was strong enough for him to keenly feel a difference in ability that did not seem like it could be overturned even with one or two surprise attacks.
But, but. What was this thing?
“A Great Wyvern… No way…”
“You know me, winged insect?”
“Orphe… Do you know it?”
“Among wyverns, it’s something close to a dragon. But it’s not a dragon. It’s something that shouldn’t be in a place like this…!”
Kikori immediately realized it was due to the dungeonization.
Something that should have been much farther in had been moved to a place like this because of the dungeonization.
…Which meant, the fairy forest had been burned because, could it be…
“I see. You only noticed the dungeonization after burning the fairy forest…!”
“Dungeonization, is it? Indeed, laws unknown to us have covered the territory. Because of that, trash like you strut around as if you own the place. Truly unpleasant.”
“Hah! Even though that trash thoroughly took down your underlings!”
When Orphe retorted, the Great Wyvern let out a low chuckle.
“Small fry like that can be replaced endlessly. So… how was it?”
“What do you mean?”
When Kikori readied his axes and answered back, the Great Wyvern twisted its face into a vile smile clear enough even for Kikori to understand.
“You thought… you could go home just like this, didn’t you? Sneaking around, defeating small fry. Did you feel like you were returning in triumph? As if I would let you escape. As if I would not kill you. Fuhaha, hiha, gyahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!”
Its voice rang out with a vibrating force, along with the thick killing intent released from it.
Noticing Orphe trembling, Kikori stood as if shielding her.
It was all right. He was not afraid. He had even adapted to Volcanion’s pressure.
“Then.”
“Hm?”
“Then I’ll kill you.”
The Great Wyvern sneered at Kikori as he made that declaration.
There was no way he could do it. There was no need to even measure the gap in strength.
Someone who could only defeat wyverns by taking advantage of openings had no chance of defeating a Great Wyvern.
Even so, Kikori tightened his grip on the axes.
And heightened his killing intent toward the Great Wyvern.
He knew it would not work. But even so, at the most crucial moments, he had always done this.
“Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!”
It echoed.
Kikori’s War Cry echoed.
I will kill you. I will absolutely kill you.
His declaration of murder toward the Great Wyvern resounded throughout the Former Fairy Forest.
