“Brother Jiang, you can’t win Bai Chuchu over. Give it up. There are women everywhere out there! Just pick one! I will even help you woo them!” Song Jie pleaded earnestly.
He’d long since realized that Bai Chuchu wasn’t someone to be trifled with, but Qin Jiang was different — he treated Bai Chuchu like an untouchable, immaculate beam of moonlight in his palm. If she wanted something, he would give it to her. If he didn’t have enough money to do so, he’d work extra jobs and save up to buy it for her.
But Bai Chuchu clearly treated him as nothing more than a free ATM.
Of course, there were also those blood-drawing tools!
“I don’t need to look for women elsewhere— I’m already married.”
“As for that bitch Bai Chuchu, just mentioning her makes me sick. I only want her to go to hell!” Qin Jiang said coldly, leaving Song Jie stunned on the other end of the phone.
Th-this — how could these be words out of Qin Jiang’s mouth?
Bai Chuchu was Qin Jiang’s beloved. If he ever said a single bad thing about her, the two brothers would be ready to come to blows.
And now Qin Jiang was actually the one calling Bai Chuchu a bitch?
Was his bro possessed? Or did he eat something that snapped him out of his infatuated daze?
Song Jie felt more relieved than anything, but then realization hit and he shrieked, “What? You’re married?”
“To whom? Is someone from the Qin family using you for some deal again?”
After reuniting with Qin Jiang, the two were nearly inseparable in conversation, but Qin Jiang had kept Yan Liang’s perverse imprisonment and demands secret.
Firstly, he didn’t want Song Jie dragged in and used by Yan Liang to threaten him. Secondly, as a man, he couldn’t bring himself to speak about being held captive by a perverted, obsessive kidnapper.
“No — this time I volunteered.”
“My wife is very beautiful, far prettier than that bitch Bai Chuchu, and calling her the richest woman in the capital wouldn’t be an exaggeration.”
Qin Jiang stated the facts.
But Song Jie clearly didn’t believe him. Though Bai Chuchu was vicious, she was indeed the campus belle of Huajing University, presenting herself as pure and innocent, and had countless admirers.
In terms of beauty, she was likely unrivaled.
Song Jie suspected Qin Jiang had been hurt so badly he imagined a wife for himself.
Song Jie shook his head, lamenting his good brother’s apparent mental breakdown.
“Enough, bro — stop bragging. Don’t I know exactly what you’re capable of?”
“By the way, where have you been disappearing to lately? Why are you behaving so weirdly? I have to personally take you to see a neurologist!”
Qin Jiang knew he couldn’t persuade Song Jie quickly, so he asked about Song Jie’s current situation and warned him not to let Jiang Kexin get too close to Bai Chuchu.
As he spoke, Song Jie was abruptly called by a familiar voice.
Song Jie panicked inwardly — Bai Chuchu had already walked up to him.
“Song Jie, who are you calling in secret? Watch out, or I’ll tell Kexin you’re cheating…”
As Huajing University’s campus belle, Bai Chuchu naturally looked down on Song Jie, a penniless kid of the same background as Qin Jiang.
But Qin Jiang hadn’t contacted her for several days.
The last LV bag she took a fancy to cost $23,000. Although Bai Chuchu had some relation to the Yan family, her side of the family had long since declined, so her upkeep of high-end brands depended almost entirely on Qin Jiang’s part-time jobs and contest prize money.
Of course, there was also support from Qin Yun.
“By the way, you’re close with Qin Jiang, right? Has he contacted you recently? If he reaches out, tell him to transfer the bag money into my account immediately. I’ve already booked the LV boutique salesperson, they said the newly arrived bag is in high demand.”
Bai Chuchu didn’t bother to conceal her nature in front of Song Jie; her tone was utterly matter-of-fact.
There had long been rumors at Huajing University that Qin Jiang treated Bai Chuchu as his white whale, pining for her wholeheartedly and acted openly as her bootlicker.
But Bai Chuchu was pure and noble — how could a loser like Qin Jiang deserve to stand beside the campus belle?
Bai Chuchu used the excuse of not wanting their relationship to affect their studies to make Qin Jiang keep it a secret. So in public, Qin Jiang always just looked like this shameless clingy guy who hoped that the campus belle would notice him.
Song Jie was at school at that moment. People passing by couldn’t help but sneer when they saw him standing with the campus belle Bai Chuchu.
“Tsk, Song Jie, how are you just as shameless as Qin Jiang? Don’t you know what a pauper you are? How dare you stand next to the campus belle?”
“By the way, where’s that infamous bootlicker Qin Jiang gone lately? We’re so used to him being at the campus belle’s side like a little eunuch waiting on her.”
“Does he really think the campus belle would fall for him? If that happens, I’ll film myself eating shit!”
“Song Jie and Qin Jiang are both from poor backgrounds — don’t they know their place? They’re like rotting vegetables at the end of the day hoping to be purchased!”
Song Jie felt sick to his core hearing the gossip.
In the past, Qin Jiang had kept their relationship secret for Bai Chuchu, quietly treating her well and silently endured being called rotten vegetables by others.
But Bai Chuchu knew full well that Qin Jiang treated her as his official girlfriend. Though their romance was secret, she deliberately made him grovel in public.
Her intentions were plain to see.
Unable to bear the mockery, Song Jie snapped, “Bai Chuchu, on what grounds do you think Brother Jiang should indulge your luxury-shopping habit? He’s not even your boyfriend — why should he pay for your tastes?”
“Also, Brother Jiang is already married — are you intending to be someone’s mistress?”
“And even if someone like you became a mistress, my Brother Jiang would find you ugly. You love to enslave your suitors and trample on their affection, forcing them to look like bootlickers… Find someone else to toy with! My Brother Jiang won’t give in to you anymore!”
Song Jie lost his temper too, even though he knew Qin Jiang’s claim about a rich and beautiful wife was probably just the poor guy’s imagination.
But in his agitation, he blurted the retort out angrily.
For a moment he couldn’t hold back.
When he came to his senses, the surrounding gazes had turned even nastier.
“Hahaha, Song Jie, has being poor driven you mad? Do you really think the campus belle would have a penniless scumbag like Qin Jiang buy luxury items for her? Each bag she carries costs tens of thousands. Just one of her designer bags costs more than your living expenses for the year!”
“Yeah! And you even fantasize that Chuchu would be the mistress of a loser bootlicker like Qin Jiang? He really thinks he married the capital’s richest female CEO?”
“Stop dreaming. Qin Jiang is useless trash that can’t be salvaged at all!”
Many present burst into laughter.
Seeing this, Bai Chuchu deliberately showed off the logo of her designer bag — a bag that Qin Jiang had bought with prize money from entering five or six contests over three sleepless months.
But no one knew he was the buyer.
She slightly furrowed her brow and, as if reluctant to bruise the young man’s pride, coaxed, “Song Jie, I know you’re good brothers with Qin Jiang, but if you spread such rumors and slander me without regard for consequences, he’d be very upset if he knew.”
She spoke gently, but Song Jie still heard a threat in her words.
Bai Chuchu was, after all, Qin Jiang’s white whale.
She could get Qin Jiang to do anything. He listened to everything she said.
If she wanted him to sever ties with Song Jie, he would likely do it immediately.
Bai Chuchu was confident in her control over Qin Jiang.
Suddenly, a commotion arose not far away.
“Oh my god, quick — look, someone actually drove the Bugatti La Voiture Noire to school?”
“OHHHHHH MYYY GAAAAWD! That’s the La Voiture Noire — only one exists in the world! The official price is US$11 million! Our school actually has such a tycoon??”
“Tsk tsk, whoever can drive a La Voiture Noire must be a tycoon. Probably the son of some noble family. Who would’ve thought our school harbors hidden talents — which student can actually afford such a top supercar?”
The crowd buzzed, and Bai Chuchu’s maintained poise began to fray.
But she couldn’t bring herself to find out more about this new rich person.
As she continued presenting an air of lofty purity out of habit, she reasoned that if it were indeed some top noble’s son, he would certainly know the campus belle upon arriving at Huajing University.
Maybe he had come because of her reputation.
With that thought, she nervously smoothed her skirt and flashed the designer logo on her bag again.
She couldn’t let anyone underestimate her family background.
At that moment, the Bugatti La Voiture Noire pulled up directly in front of Bai Chuchu and Song Jie.
Bai Chuchu felt uncontrollably excited, but outwardly feigned cool indifference as she stared at the supercar.
Then the black window rolled down.
The man inside revealed a slightly thin but sharply contoured handsome face. Though dark circles and acne marks marred his looks a bit, the Bugatti La Voiture Noire was enough to make those faults vanish.
“Son, get in!”
Qin Jiang’s gaze skimmed past Bai Chuchu, not even giving her a second look.
Song Jie was dumbfounded.
That familiar voice?
Could the rich man’s son in that top supercar actually be Brother Jiang?
No — that was impossible!
Did Brother Jiang really marry a richest female CEO?
Was he being kept?
But he’d heard richest female CEOs were ugly and extravagant, and often extremely voluptuous — could his beansprout of a brother withstand being crushed like that?
“Hey, godfather~”
“I’m coming!”
Song Jie hopped in briskly, thoroughly slapping everyone who had mocked his poverty in the face.
Bai Chuchu felt that the driver’s voice sounded very familiar, but she didn’t dare be sure.
“Sir, you look somewhat familiar — haven’t we met somewhere?”
Bai Chuchu put a pure smile on her face.
Even the curve of her lips was practiced to perfection.
It was optimized to show her most charming side.
Qin Jiang sneered coldly, “At first glance, you do look familiar… Was it at the parlor yesterday? Which number were you?”
His voice wasn’t soft. Many around clearly heard him.
In an instant, the rumor that the campus belle had been humiliated and essentially called a sex worker from a shady masseuse parlor shot to the school’s bulletin boards.
Each post had increasingly explicit pictures to accompany it!
Bai Chuchu’s face turned pale, gritting her teeth yet afraid to offend the young man. She said with restraint, “Sir, you really know how to joke.”
Qin Jiang propped his head with one hand and glanced at her, then looked apologetic for saying the wrong thing as he suddenly exclaimed in an exaggerated manner, “Oh — so you’re not the foot-washing girl!”
“You were one of the princesses at the club last night, then.”
Everyone gasped. Now he was calling her a hostess at some sleazy club!
Actually, there was nothing wrong with mistaking one person for another.
But wasn’t Bai Chuchu always pure and lofty?
This time, she actually initiated conversation with the supercar guy?
She had been humiliated to this extent, yet she shrank back and didn’t dare to retort at all. Was this really the Bai Chuchu they knew?!
