At the hospital.
The mother of the Qin siblings, Jiang Yuyao, paced anxiously outside the emergency room, constantly sending messages urging Qin Qianyun to bring Qin Jiang to the hospital.
Just as Qin Jiang stepped into the hospital corridor, a woman’s genuine leather handbag, as if it had eyes, was hurled at his head.
Quick-eyed and quick-handed, Qin Jiang pulled Qin Qianyun, who had been deliberately walking behind him, toward himself.
A woman’s scream soon cut through the ER corridor, a large bump rose on Qin Qianyun’s forehead, and blood even trickled down her cheek.
“Ah, I’m really sorry about that — that’s your mom, though. If she hits you it’s family discipline, but if she hits me that’s intentional assault, and I’ll have to take legal action and have her hauled to the station.”
Qin Jiang wore an innocent expression. Looking at the blood streaming from Qin Qianyun’s forehead, there wasn’t a trace of pity in his eyes — his glance swept over her without a ripple.
Having been struck by her mother’s leather bag, Qin Qianyun felt dizzy and her face was damp. When she reached up to touch it… her hand came away covered in blood.
Frightened, she screamed again.
The screaming was so loud that a doctor came out to stop it.
Seeing the wound on Qin Qianyun’s head, they hurriedly began treating her.
Jiang Yuyao hadn’t expected that in disciplining that damned Qin Jiang she’d accidentally hurt her youngest daughter, and she felt a sour twist in her heart.
But this only reinforced her prejudice and malice toward Qin Jiang.
“Qin Jiang, I’m your real mother — it’s only right that I discipline you. You actually dared to dodge and injured your sister. How can you be so vicious?”
Dressed as a high-society matron, Jiang Yuyao always appeared gentle and refined to outsiders, naturally mild and virtuous, seemingly attentive in guiding her children.
But the only person in the whole family who constantly made her lose that matronly composure was Qin Jiang.
To her, Qin Jiang was inherently bad-tempered, refused to listen to admonition, and after more than a decade outside, had picked up a whole set of rotten habits from the lower class.
As the matriarch of the Qin family, she had to punish Qin Jiang harshly to turn him away from his filthy habits.
Thus, long-standing family punishments and strict household rules were the norm.
She didn’t think she was being heavy-handed at all. She only thought Qin Jiang’s skin was too thick and needed a coarser, sharper rod to punish him.
Hearing her absurd reasoning, Qin Jiang snorted with derision, “Mrs. Qin, kindly take a good look yourself — you deliberately hit your daughter’s head with your bag.”
“I avoided it in self-defense.”
“How could you be brutal enough to harm your own child? How could you be so cruel and vicious?”
Qin Jiang raised an eyebrow and met Jiang Yuyao’s eyes without a shred of fear.
This woman was utterly unfit to be a mother.
No — she simply didn’t deserve to be his mother.
As a mother to Qin Yun, however, she was gentle and delicate, doting and attentive — a very competent mom.
“Qin Jiang, are you calling me vicious?”
“I’m your real mother. If even I can’t discipline you, once you’re out in society, with your rotten habits you’ll only shame and bring trouble to the Qin family.”
“Now you’ve grown bold and you even dare to dodge my punishment, dare to refuse giving your brother a blood transfusion — how did I give birth to such a cold-blooded, heartless monster!”
Jiang Yuyao’s face darkened as she spat invectives.
But she hadn’t forgotten the most important thing at hand.
“I don’t care how unwilling you are — the person inside is your real younger brother. He needs your blood transfusion now, so go in and save his life!”
After getting a doctor to bandage Qin Qianyun’s head, Jiang Yuyao stepped forward to grab Qin Jiang’s arm.
But this time, Qin Jiang coldly stepped aside.
He didn’t even give Jiang Yuyao a chance to touch the hem of his clothes.
When Jiang Yuyao failed to catch his sleeve, she looked up, ready to scold him further and twist his ear.
But this time, when she looked up, she met Qin Jiang’s utterly indifferent eyes.
Calm and still, yet they sent a shiver through her.
Only then did she sense it.
Qin Jiang seemed to have changed.
It was as if he’d suddenly grown barbs all over, prickly and piercing.
Qin Jiang ignored Jiang Yuyao and walked straight to the emergency room door.
The doctor opened the door.
As if routine, they were about to prick his vein for blood.
Qin Jiang stood in the doorway, unmoving, as if waiting for something.
Suddenly, hurried footsteps echoed from the ER corridor.
Song Jie came dashing toward Qin Jiang, carrying two large buckets of an unidentified red liquid.
Immediately, Qin Jiang pushed the ER door open with a hand.
One of the big buckets in Song Jie’s hands was passed to Qin Jiang.
Without hesitation, Qin Jiang strode into the emergency room, threw aside the curtain, and indeed saw the frail young man Qin Yun lying on the so-called operating table with earphones still in his ears.
He swung the big bucket up.
And poured it down onto Qin Yun’s head with force.
“Splash—splash—splash—”
“Aaaaaaaaaah!!!!”
The stench of blood filled the entire emergency room.
Qin Jiang: Woohoo~ That felt great~~
He was absolutely ecstatic~~~
“Qin Yun, didn’t you want a blood transfusion?”
“Blood of your kind? I’ve got plenty of it!”
Jiang Yuyao was stunned. When she realized what had happened and rushed into the ER, she nearly fainted from shock.
Qin Yun lay on the operating table, drenched in blood, completely soaked in the metallic reek.
“Qin Jiang… you’re insane!!”
Qin Jiang sneered coldly. “No — I’m feeling great!”
“I’m so damn ecstatic, I’m flying!!”
