Milun and Voil arrived at the restaurant. They thought the business would be winding down by this time, making it the perfect moment to rob and escape with the earnings.
The security in Greek City was so good that they worried about being chased too quickly if they robbed a more central location. After scouting a few more candidates, they decided El’s restaurant was the best target, even if it meant slightly less money than a busier area.
They had heard that the restaurant owner was wealthy, so Milun thought there might be many valuable items there.
Voil simply followed Milun without any thoughts of his own.
As they climbed the hill, it was as quiet as it had been during their earlier reconnaissance. They had seen many people coming and going around sunset, so there should definitely be some earnings.
And other things to steal.
Milun was convinced of this and opened the restaurant door.
Voil, with his great strength, could handle several soldiers alone. Milun had a knife, and Voil had a club.
“Nobody move! If you move, you die!”
Milun shouted as he surveyed the people. Three women were sitting at the bar table. One woman was sitting at a regular table.
And two soldiers.
The soldiers stood up, drawing their swords. But Milun was not afraid of just two soldiers. It would be troublesome to miss this opportunity.
“Milun, there are soldiers here?”
“Soldiers can come to eat too! There aren’t many of them. Knock them out!”
“Got it!”
Voil exhaled sharply and swung his massive club.
“Do these bastards know where they are?!”
The soldiers tried to draw their swords but were knocked to the floor by the power of the swinging club. The next soldier barely dodged it.
Instead, the club smashed a table.
Crash.
Voil had no choice but to punch the face of the soldier who dodged the club.
Thud.
In the end, the soldier couldn’t withstand Voil’s strength and fell.
“Good, tie them up with this.”
Milun handed the rope he brought to Voil and looked at the other women.
“Hey, where’s the owner? Come out now! Unless you want me to kill the customers.”
Milun shouted, pointing his knife at Berna, who was nearby.
“You guys, doing this…”
Berna added in shock, but Milun didn’t let her finish.
“Shut up!”
Voil tied the two soldiers to a pillar. Milun was confident of their success. With the two men down, only the women were left. It was an easy task.
“Where is the owner? Do you want to see this woman die?”
Seeing Milun looking for the owner, Sereina began to tap Rurin next to her. Her face was full of mischief.
“Hey, they’re looking for the owner. What are you doing, Mistress?”
“Right. The Mistress is also the owner. Hehehe.”
“Excuse me, you two…?”
Elena, who was about to use magic to subdue the two men, blinked at the reactions of the two dragons. With such great beings around, she felt she would be reprimanded if she stepped in with magic.
Moreover, there was the intense glare from Sereina.
“You two women over there! Are you crazy? How dare you laugh!”
Milun signaled to Voil. Voil then struck the table where Berna was sitting.
The table shattered with a loud crack.
“Kyah! I’m scared! Mistress, please do something!”
Sereina, with a shocked face, exaggeratedly stood up and grabbed Rurin’s arm. Then Rurin stepped forward and spoke to Milun.
“I am the Mistress!”
“Good, bring me today’s earnings! Otherwise, this woman dies! You don’t want to see a customer die, do you? Mistress! Hurry up!”
“Oh, he called me Mistress. That’s right! I am the Mistress!”
Rurin started giggling, pleased that Milun called her the mistress.
Berna didn’t know Sereina and Rurin’s true identities. But she believed that Greek would come soon, so she thought to hold on a little longer. Berna was the most serious person here.
“Oh my, they’re acknowledging such things.”
“What, what the hell are you talking about? Why haven’t you brought the money yet? Isn’t this knife scary?”
“Oh my! I’m scared!”
Sereina exaggeratedly panicked again.
“Hey, Mistress! Why are you spinning around?”
“Mistress, yes, the Mistress! It’s amazing that this arrogant human is saying something right for once.”
Rurin started giggling at being called the mistress and drank her beer without caring about anything else. Sereina thought this was a good opportunity and approached Milun with a mischievous expression.
“Do you want money?”
“Of course. I’ll give you one minute. If you don’t bring it, this woman dies!”
“It’s okay. We can hold on until he comes…”
“Shut up! You!”
Milun pointed the knife at Berna’s neck again.
“Voil, grab that woman too! Only leave the mistress. This is so annoying!”
“Oh my, wait a minute! It’s too scary! Can I tell you something? That woman you grabbed…”
“What?”
Sereina pointed at Berna with an exaggerated gesture, making Milun tilt his head in confusion.
“Instead of the earnings from this restaurant, wouldn’t it be better to hold a knife to that woman’s neck and demand a ransom?”
“What? Who is this woman to demand a ransom?”
“Sereina…!”
Elena, shocked, tried to approach Sereina, but Sereina shook her head, signaling her to stay put.
As it was a dragon’s command, Elena had no choice but to sit back down.
Berna was confused. She knew the woman had come to the castle with Elena but didn’t know her true identity.
Berna was afraid of what the woman might be planning.
But Sereina was a dragon.
A dragon wouldn’t deeply consider human emotions. Fun came first. Of course, she didn’t intend to harm anyone.
She knew El wouldn’t stand by if someone got hurt. She also knew how terrifying El could be when truly angry, even though he usually took her jokes well.
He had once subdued the entire Black Dragon clan.
“So, that woman! Don’t you know who she is? She’s the Countess of Greek City! If you demand a ransom, you’ll get enough money to live on for the rest of your life!”
“What, what?”
Milun was startled and looked at Berna. He hadn’t noticed the women’s appearances or clothes in the confusion, but after hearing Sereina, he saw that Berna was indeed wearing very high-quality clothing.
Clothes that not just anyone could wear.
“Milun?”
Voil also looked at Milun in surprise.
“No, this isn’t right. The Countess? If we mess this up, we’re in big trouble.”
“Yeah, Milun. Let’s just leave.”
“Should we?”
Milun had been cautious in choosing an isolated location to commit the crime, not wanting to escalate things. He was ready to back down.
But at that moment, Sereina noticed the situation and began to provoke Milun.
“What’s that? Men, huh?”
“What?”
“The Lord here cherishes his wife greatly. You could get enough money to live on for life. Just throw the ransom in the restaurant and escape. Once you cross that hill, you’re in another territory. The soldiers can’t follow. It’s so easy. Just take her hostage and send a soldier to get the ransom. Hohoho.”
“That, that…”
“What? Are you scared? Don’t you have any guts? How pathetic.”
“What? Who are you calling pathetic!”
Milun reacted to Sereina’s words, shouting loudly. He had hated being called pathetic since he was a child.
So he got angry and decided to act tough.
“Fine! Now that I think about it, those soldiers were her guards? Voil! Wake one of them up.”
“Got it.”
Voil moved and started tapping the cheek of one of the fallen soldiers. Soon, the soldier came to his senses and stood up.
“Yes, men should act like men. Hohoho. How much will you demand? Hmm, enough to build a house elsewhere should be about this much, right?”
“What?”
The amount Sereina indicated with her fingers was something most people couldn’t earn in a lifetime.
“What? Too little?”
“Yeah, it’s too little, but it should do. Ahem.”
Not wanting to be called pathetic again, Milun agreed with Sereina’s words. Sereina was amused toying with these pathetic robbers.
Milun pointed the knife at Berna’s neck again and glared at the soldier.
“Hey, soldier! If you don’t want your Countess to get hurt, go to the castle and get the ransom! If you escalate things, she dies. Remember that!”
“My Lady!”
“Mmmph!”
Milun gagged Berna with a cloth to prevent her from speaking and glared at the soldier again.
“Are you going or not? Do you want to see her die?”
“I’ll go! But if anything happens to the Lady, you will be torn limb from limb! Understand? Stay put!”
The soldier shouted those words and ran outside.
“Whew.”
Milun felt his heart pounding. He hadn’t planned for things to escalate this much, but it had suddenly become a big deal. He was getting anxious.
But it was too late to turn back now. He decided to follow Sereina’s plan, get the ransom, and escape through the back door. That was the best way.
“You, don’t move! Voil, tie her up with the rope!”
Milun shouted at Sereina, who was moving freely. Voil scratched his head again and approached Sereina.
“Wait a minute, wouldn’t it be better to check the escape route first?”
“Is that so?”
Milun fell for Sereina’s words again and gestured to Voil.
“Ask her where the back door is and check it.”
“I’ll do that.”
Voil nodded and approached Sereina.
“Tell me where the back door is.”
“Sure, sure. You need to know the back door to escape. Hehe.”
Sereina led Voil to the back door, pointing to the entrance of the lair and explaining it as the escape route. She returned to her seat, laughing inside.
This time she approached Rurin.
“Rurin, I mean, Mistress.”
“What is it, Red One? I’m in a good mood, so don’t bother me.”
Rurin was sipping beer, lost in her imagination.
She was imagining herself as the mistress, El’s wife, doing various things.
Sereina sighed, seeing Rurin. How could she be so obsessed with one man?
Of course, it didn’t seem entirely one-sided. But still, Sereina thought Rurin loved El quite seriously.
Sigh.
