“You scoundrels! To the kidnappers, this is a notification. The restaurant is surrounded. I repeat! The restaurant is surrounded!”
Soon after, the outside became noisy. The soldier who had rushed out of the restaurant did not know where Greek had gone to, so he frantically ran to the Lord’s castle. He then returned with reinforcements.
Of course, since Berna getting hurt would be unacceptable, he reported to the butler and came together.
The butler, realizing the gravity of the situation, even brought money just in case.
“Mi-Milun!”
“Voil, go out and tell them right now. If they don’t pay the ransom, the Countess will die. She will definitely die!”
“Got it.”
Voil went outside.
However, Milun snapped back to his senses. It was the Countess. The Countess. A noble of a different class. He suddenly realized that there was no way they could escape unscathed after touching such a noble.
He had committed an absurd act due to Sereina’s instigation and the provocation of being called a pathetic man. Realizing this, he began to sweat profusely.
“If you don’t pay the ransom right now, the Countess will die. She will die here and now!”
“How dare you lowly things touch the Countess. Are you crazy! Surrender immediately if you don’t want to go to hell!”
But it was too late to turn back now. They had intended to simply rob the restaurant, but it had turned into an incomprehensible situation.
Seeing the situation, Sereina, who was starting to lose interest, quietly slipped outside.
“Butler?”
“And, who are you?”
“I’m Sereina. I’ve sometimes visited the castle for medical treatments.”
“Oh, I remember. But now is really not the time…”
“It’s better to hand over the ransom quickly. Those guys have lost their minds. If they don’t get the ransom right now, they really plan to kill the Countess and then commit suicide.”
“Is that really true?”
“They care that she’s the Countess…”
“That can’t happen. For now, hand over the money!”
The butler shouted at a soldier, who then took the money bundle into the restaurant.
Sereina smiled.
Then she quietly headed towards the underground lair.
“Get out immediately! Leave the money and get out right now! Then we’ll release the Countess, no, we’ll release her!”
“Grr…”
Milun shouted at the soldier who brought the money bundle. The soldier had no choice but to leave the bundle and withdraw.
“Alright. Voil! Grab that bundle! And let’s run!”
“Yes!”
Voil picked up the bundle. Milun ran towards the back door, leaving the Countess behind. Voil guided Milun towards the entrance to the lair that Sereina had shown them.
“This is supposed to be the back door!”
“Really? Let’s go!”
“Yeah!”
Thus, Milun and Voil broke into Rurin’s lair, not even imagining that it was a path leading to hell.
Meanwhile, Elena, confirming that Sereina, the cause of all this, was missing, ran to Berna.
“Lady Berna, are you alright?”
Then she untied the cloth binding her.
“Yes, I’m fine. It was a bit scary, but…”
“That’s a relief. That’s a relief. To think such thugs existed… Of all times, when Mr. El isn’t here…”
Elena said that, frowning. If El had been here, he wouldn’t have let Sereina play her pranks.
At that moment, El and Greek returned, noticing the commotion at the restaurant. They had been talking while walking to the bamboo forest beyond the ranch and were on their way back.
“What on earth is going on?”
Greek asked the butler. The butler hurriedly began to explain the situation.
“Mother!”
Greek, shocked, ran into the restaurant. Fortunately, Berna was unharmed. El was also relieved to see Elena beside her. But actually, with Rurin and Sereina supposedly in the restaurant, he couldn’t understand what was going on.
However, neither Sereina nor Rurin was visible in the restaurant.
This was because Sereina had teleported Rurin to the lair.
“What the hell is going on here?”
El just blinked in bewilderment.
And so, Milun and Voil began to wander around the lair.
“What kind of back door is this? What the hell is this place? Why is it so big?”
“She definitely said it was the back door.”
Voil answered Milun. But soon, both were so startled that they fell backward.
“Aaaaaah!”
A white monster appeared before their eyes. It was a monster they had never seen before, covered entirely in white fur.
Of course, the fur wasn’t that long since it had been trimmed once. But Milun and Voil were so shocked that they couldn’t react for a moment.
The monster that appeared before them was Lurun, Rurin’s favorite monster.
Lurun showed hostility towards the intruders.
“Rurururururun!”
Milun then urged Voil to fight.
“Vo-Voil!”
“Isn’t that a monster? I can’t fight monsters!”
“Still, try to face it, you’re strong.”
As Milun kept pushing him, Voil had no choice but to close his eyes tightly and swing his fist at the monster. But it was Voil who got knocked back.
“Rurun!”
Lurun raised its white eyebrows in anger. It was natural since they were trespassers. Rurin had ordered that intruders be punished.
Lurun picked up the club and approached the two.
“Damn it! What the hell is going on!”
Milun grabbed Voil’s hand and started running in the opposite direction from the monster. They had gone in to rob, ended up capturing the Countess, became kidnappers by accident, and now a monster was blocking their path in an endless maze-like space.
Milun and Voil, who had been running forward, stopped in front of a door to catch their breath.
“Huff huff.”
“I’m going to die.”
“Milun! Isn’t this the door to the exit?”
“I hope so.”
Milun and Voil swallowed hard and opened the door.
But unfortunately, that room was the dragon’s main chamber. Sereina had been hiding there. The dragon’s main chamber was the only room that could be reached directly without passing through the maze, so she had predicted they would come this far, and she was right.
Sereina, having released her polymorph and returned to her dragon form, roared at Milun and Voil as they entered the room.
“Aaaaaaah!”
Milun and Voil, witnessing the scene, screamed in terror and fainted on the spot.
And so, the incident was brought to an end.
The two were immediately escorted to the Lord’s castle.
As for the aftermath, Milun and Voil were sent straight to prison. Since Greek was furious, they couldn’t avoid a heavy sentence.
They had touched his only family, though his Father had not yet passed away, she was the only family he could talk to.
Having offended the Lord, their future was undoubtedly bleak.
And Sereina, as punishment for her prank, had to stand in the restaurant with her arms up all day. She was dragged out to the restaurant and sat in a corner of the kitchen with her arms raised.
Her arms, raised through her red hair, trembled. Rurin, seeing this as an opportunity, approached Sereina and started to tease her.
“Hahaha. So why did you do it? What’s so fun about toying with insignificant humans?”
“You, you!”
“I knew this would happen and stayed quiet. And you dare to invade my lair’s room? How about we just roast this red thing?”
As Rurin rattled with a fork and knife, El placed a hand on Rurin’s head and gently pressed her temple.
“Aaah! It hurts!”
“You didn’t do well either, did you? If robbers appear in the restaurant, you should catch them. What were you doing?”
“But they called me the mistress, so I couldn’t help it. The attack was too strong, and I got dizzy.”
“Shut up. I can’t believe I entrusted the restaurant to these dragons. Hey, Red Dragon, aren’t you raising your arms properly?”
“Krr, how dare this great dragon receive punishment from a mere human? I am a great being!”
El glared at the grumbling Sereina. She immediately fell silent and bowed her head. El hated actions that put innocent people in danger.
Since Berna had almost been in danger, this couldn’t just be overlooked.
And Sereina knew how strong El was, so she couldn’t resist in the end.
“Well, that could be true. But, sob… my arms hurt too much, can you help me?”
“Don’t make me laugh. If you don’t like it, leave Greek City.”
That’s right. El was doing this because there were things to protect in this city.
If she didn’t want to live here, there was no need for punishment. She could live freely. She could go to another country and play king or return to her lair, it didn’t matter.
“What? I have nowhere to go. And it’s fun here… There are things I want to watch over.”
But Sereina shook her head.
The reason she stayed here, even while being punished, was because of the strong sense of feeling alive, a sensation she hadn’t felt before.
When she played, she only thought of it as a game. There were no genuine relationships where she exchanged her heart.
In her clan, she had been backstabbed and was almost abandoned. Of course, the Elder had asked her to return.
But she didn’t feel like it.
Here in Greek City, there were several beings to whom she could show her true self.
El and Rurin were among them.
She could speak freely and live as a dragon, all of which felt good.
She also liked the elf’s clinic where she was currently staying. She thought the elf was cute.
And above all, she wanted to explore if true love existed, so she had no intention of leaving.
“Then you have to accept your punishment.”
“Damn it. It’s frustrating to be powerless! Why are humans so strong, this is really…”
Sereina, muttering words she didn’t mean, felt El’s mana emanating and immediately shut her mouth.
“That black one who stayed still should be punished too then!”
But it was unfair to keep raising her arms alone. So this time, Sereina dragged Rurin into it.
“Rurin, well, that could happen. And she didn’t participate, so come here, Rurin.”
Haa, another cringe-worthy display of affection. Sereina thought so and shook her head inwardly.
“Hoho, see? I’m completely different from the likes of a Red.”
Rurin boasted arrogantly, but El’s next words brought a twist.
“Clean up. Clean it up thoroughly. Even the lair! It’s punishment for not guarding the house.”
“What?”
Sereina started laughing, looking at Rurin with a satisfied expression.
“Hahahaha!”
Then Rurin clung to El with a dying expression.
“My love!”
While the two were like that, Sereina thought El wouldn’t notice her and quietly lowered her arms.
But the order came immediately.
“I’m watching! Sereina!”
In the end, Sereina, surprised, had to raise her arms again. But she couldn’t help but laugh.
Because she found this itself to be fun.
