While heading toward the Elf Nation, we discovered a ruined village and its villagers.
I used potions to heal the injured and also revive the dead.
After restoring the little girl’s father and mother from earlier, I continued reviving the villagers using Resurrection Potions.
“Amazing!”
“Wonderful!”
“The dead came back to life!”
“““Saintess!”””
That’s what the villagers said. No no, I’m not a saintess — I’m an alchemist.
After finishing most of the revivals, I moved around inside the village.
Suddenly, the elf Zenith-chan asked me a question.
“…Come to think of it, you don’t split up the Resurrection Potions for others to use.”
“Oh, good catch. That’s right. Advanced potions — also called magic potions — won’t activate unless the creator channels mana into them.”
“…I see. The mechanism is similar to magic. Mana flows into the formula and activates it. In this case the potion is the formula.”
“Exactly. It’s inconvenient, right? Someday I plan to modify advanced potions so anyone can use them.”
While chatting like that, I arrived at a half-destroyed house.
Actually, most of the houses in the village were broken…
“Saintess, what do you intend to do?”
“It’s inconvenient without houses, right? So I’ll fix them. Also I’m not a saintess, so please remember that.”
I received the next advanced potion from the maid Cherge.
I opened the lid and splashed it onto the broken house.
“L-look! The house!”
“It’s like time is reversing and returning to normal!?”
The shattered bricks returned to their original positions as if playing in reverse, and in no time the brick house was completed.
“Amazing! A miracle!”
“A divine miracle!”
“The saintess is incredible!”
Honestly correcting them was getting tiring.
Sigh… how many times do I have to say I’m an alchemist?
Zenith-chan spoke in astonishment.
“…W-was that restoration magic? Ancient magic?”
“No, a Reverse Potion.”
“Reverse…?”
“It’s a potion that distorts spacetime and returns objects to how they were before breaking.”
“…………”
Zenith-chan tilted her head with a confused expression.
“Huh, Cherge? Did I say something strange?”
“You abruptly displayed specialized knowledge to a non-alchemist and indulged in self-satisfaction. That is all.”
I was not indulging. Honestly what a rude maid.
While Zenith-chan groaned, Toka-chan came over smiling and patted her shoulder.
“My lord’s thoughts cannot be understood by ordinary people like us. Thinking about it is pointless! Let’s do what we can now!”
“…Y-yes. Lady Seyi, I will go prepare food distribution.”
“Okay. Thanks.”
Taking Daphne-chan and Cherge with me, I repaired broken buildings one after another.
The rabbit-ear slave girl had good hearing, so she quickly found injured people buried under rubble.
The robot maid removed debris with robot strength, and I treated them with potions.
Broken buildings were fixed with Reverse Potions.
“Master.”
“What is it?”
“Does this activity have meaning? It appears you are only wasting potions. That is all.”
“It has meaning. A test run of the potions I made.”
“Aren’t the potions finite in number? That is all.”
“If we keep them without using them, they’ll just rot. Better to use them when needed. We gather data and make everyone smile — two birds with one stone.”
Also, seeing a disaster like this and ignoring it despite having the power to help…
If I did that, I couldn’t enjoy my journey.
I’d definitely feel awful.
I’m not a saint nor a holy person like they say.
“I just do it because I want to.”
“You are posing coolly, but you are simply being selfish. That is all.”
“I can’t hear you.”
With the power of Reverse Potions, I restored broken buildings. This really is convenient.
Well, I made quite a lot, so the stock shouldn’t run out for a while.
Even if it does, I can just make more at a workshop.
My master has workshops all over the country (mostly abandoned though).
“A-amazing… it feels like I’m dreaming…”
The village chief cried while looking at the restored village.
It’s not a dream — it’s reality.
“Saintess, thank you very much!”
“No, no.”
After that, Zenith-chan and the others served food to the villagers.
It was just soup though…
“Whoa! Delicious!”
“This is the best soup I’ve ever had!”
The villagers praised the soup made by the slave girls.
The ones who made it, Zenith-chan and the others, tilted their heads.
“…It was only meant to be normal soup.”
“If anything unusual, it might be this seasoning my lord gave us.”
I had handed them a secret seasoning I casually mixed.
“Saintess! It’s so delicious! What did you put in this soup!?”
“This.”
I received the bottle from Cherge and showed it to the villagers.
A black liquid inside a bottle.
“It’s a seasoning that makes most things taste good.”
I made it randomly so it didn’t have a name.
Then the villagers cheered.
“Amazing seasoning!”
“A seasoning made by Lady Seyi…”
“How about calling it ‘Seyi Oil’!”
“That’s it! Seyi Oil!”
They named it without me knowing!
So embarrassing…
“Seyi Oil is amazing!”
“It goes with eggs!”
“Incredible… not only potions, but inventions too!”
None of it was really that special though.
Still, the villagers thanked me tremendously.
