I, a court alchemist, survived the stampede using the suspended animation potion.

First, I decided to head for human settlements to understand the situation.

“Alright, healing potion reserves are perfect. Monster-repellent potions are reasonably done. Okay, let’s move.”

I stored the large amount of potions inside the Alchemy Workshop.

Potions made in this magical space could be carried by keeping them inside.

However, I had to be careful because time flowed differently inside and outside the workshop.

Time flowed faster inside the Alchemy Workshop. So if left alone, they deteriorated quickly.

All the potions I made before entering suspended animation had rotted.

“Alright, let’s go.”

I left the ruined Royal Capital behind.

Since I had splashed monster-repellent potion around, I probably wouldn’t encounter monsters for a while.

I started walking.

I had the map of the Royal Capital’s surroundings memorized. I aimed for the nearest village.

Though with the capital destroyed, I didn’t know if the village was safe.

“I hope it’s safe.”

I prioritized my own life. As a result, some people surely died or were hurt.

I didn’t think my decision was wrong. Anyone values their own life most.

Before long, I reached the closest village to the capital.

“Oh my…”

It too was abandoned. The next one, and the one after that as well.

“Guess I need to go to a bigger city?”

I trudged along, and just as I entered a forest—

Clang! Gakin! Clang!

“Metal sounds…? What is that?”

I walked toward the sound.

Hiding in the bushes, I observed. There were people—and monsters.

“A carriage being attacked by monsters, I suppose.”

The ones guarding the carriage were adventurers.

A four-person party, facing dog-folk .

There were ten of them. The adventurers were slightly disadvantaged.

The adventurers seemed wounded, while the kobolds still had plenty of fight left.

“So, what should I do? Hide and wait it out?”

No, helping them would benefit me more.

If I helped, they’d probably let me ride the carriage.

“Alright, let’s help. Monster-repellent potion… here!”

I threw the potion with a full-force underhand toss.

The bottle hit the ground with a sharp crack.

At that moment, a smell monsters hated spread around.

The kobolds tucked their tails and fled. Good, good.

“Are you alright?”

I walked toward the adventurers.

They looked shocked at the disappeared kobolds.

“W-who are you…?”

“A traveler. You look injured—are you okay? I have potions if you need them.”

The male adventurer widened his eyes.

“P-potions? You have potions?”

“Yes.”

Why was he surprised? Adventurers having potions wasn’t strange.

Maybe they just ran out.

“P-please! Will you sell them to us!”

I could sell them, but I wanted to earn trust here.

Potions could be made easily from herbs around anyway.

“No need for money.”

“What!? Y-you don’t want payment!?”

“Yes. I have stock. Lives are more important.”

That was the official reason; honestly I wanted them healed so they’d escort me to a nearby town.

I was a weak girl after all. Even with repellent potions, strong monsters wouldn’t be affected.

If trouble happened, I wanted them to fight and protect me. So giving them free potions was best. No loss for me.

I pulled out a pile of potions made in the Alchemy Workshop into my arms.

“T-that many!? And… red potions? I’ve never seen these before…”

The adventurer stared wide-eyed.

? Potions were supposed to be red though.

“Anyway, please use them.”

“But… this many is too much…”

“Come on, let’s heal the injured. I’ll help.”

I wanted to reach a town quickly—for information and especially a bath!

I’d walked quite far and was sweaty. Walking was rough for an indoor person.

I split up with him (he said he was the leader) and treated the wounded.

“Whoa!”

“Amazing!”

“Even deep wounds heal instantly!”

“This is incredible!”

Why were they surprised? It was just a low-grade potion.

“M-miss! One of my companion’s arm—his arm is growing back!?”

“? Yes. Is something wrong?”

“No no no! Arms growing back is strange!”

“? No, not really.”

My master’s potions could promote cell division and regrow limbs even if missing.

…Now that I think about it.

I always stayed in the lab mass-producing potions, so this was my first time seeing real reactions from people drinking mine.

I knew my master’s potions and their effects well, so I wasn’t surprised.

The leader looked at me and muttered softly.

“A Saint…”

“? No, I’m just an alchemist.”
