While Seyi steadily advanced her prison break plan…
In the royal castle of the Elf Nation, a man sat upon the throne.
He was massively muscular, bare-chested.
Elf women attended him on both sides, and a crown rested on his head.
His name was Sutherland.
“King of the Forest! I have a report!”
“Yaaawn…?”
A single elf soldier appeared before Sutherland.
However, he twisted his face in annoyance and curled his finger slightly.
“Gah…!”
Suddenly, the soldier began to suffer.
He did not know what was being done to him. He simply felt as though someone was strangling him from behind…
“I’m having a good time with my little kittens, so why’re you interrupting me, huh? Haa?”
“M-my… apo… logies… King… of the… Forest… gah!”
The choking was released, and the soldier coughed on the spot.
He turned around, but there was no one there, and in the end he never understood who had done what to him.
Hmph… Sutherland snorted and looked down at the soldier crawling on the ground as he spoke.
“So? What is it.”
“Cough… We received a report from Abukuzenii-sama that the captured woman escaped from prison.”
“What? Hey, bring Abukuzenii here!”
Abukuzenii, who had been imprisoned thanks to Seyi, entered the room.
“Hey, what happened!”
“M-my apologies… We captured the insolent woman who tried to seize our guild and intended to bring her before the King, but she escaped.”
“Tch…! Who’s the idiot woman interfering with my road to success?”
“She was a woman who used mysterious techniques. She must have used them to bewilder and control my subordinates’ hearts.”
That was absolutely not the case.
They were not controlled by magic at all.
They were simply captivated by Seyi’s character and her exceptional skill as an alchemist.
It was completely different from Abukuzenii, who ruled them through authority and coercion.
Now then, why had Sutherland ordered Abukuzenii to capture her?
He had seized the country, used its abundant resources to establish a magic-tool artisan guild, and achieved great success. He could not tolerate interference.
Thus, he tried to capture and dispose of the woman who had taken over the guild workshop.
“Send out soldiers. Capture the woman who escaped outside.”
“A-about that…”
“What?”
“The woman escaped prison, but she has not left the castle.”
“Huh…? What do you mean?”
“For some reason, she has been sneaking around and sniffing all over the castle interior.”
“Tch… makes no sense. If she’s inside the castle, that’s convenient. Capture the woman and bring her here.”
Just then—
“M-messenger! Messenger!!!”
An elf soldier acting as a messenger rushed into the room.
“The prisoners are rampaging inside the castle!”
“! What do you mean the prisoners are rampaging!”
“We don’t know. But it’s almost certainly under that woman’s guidance.”
The soldier next reported that the prisoners and the woman were acting separately.
“Why haven’t you captured her! She’s just a woman! What are the soldiers doing!”
“T-that is… it’s very strange. No one can approach her…”
The soldier’s report lacked clarity.
Abukuzenii thought she must be using another bizarre technique.
“The woman is heading straight here. She likely intends to meet the King…”
“Hmph… if she’s coming, all the better. I shall greet her myself here.”
However, Abukuzenii felt uneasy.
Between the technique that warped the Orichalcum prison bars and the strange power that kept soldiers away, he feared Seyi’s unknown magic.
He wondered whether Sutherland could defeat her.
“Gah…!”
“It shows on your face, Abukuzenii.”
Again. The same technique used on the soldier was now used on Abukuzenii.
He writhed in agony.
“Do you know who I am? I am a man personally taught by the famed Ancient Great Sage, and granted full mastery.”
“S-so… rr… y… I… doubted… you… gah!”
The technique was released, and Abukuzenii could breathe freely again.
He had no idea what had been done, but he thought it was incredible power.
With this, they could win… and besides…
“This Ancient Great Sage… is it that person who wanders the world wielding immense power?”
“That’s right. Heh… the culprit surely doesn’t know that I am the Great Sage’s disciple. I can’t wait to imagine her face when she finds out… kuhahaha!”
At that moment—
Bang! The throne room doors blew open.
“Good day, King of the Forest.”
“You’ve finally come, woman…!”
Abukuzenii grinned fiercely. Like a moth flying into a flame.
Right now, that woman… Seyi… had appeared before the immensely powerful King of the Forest.
“Oh my, Abukuzenii. Did you break out of prison?”
“You’re the one who escaped!”
“Yes yes. So? That person is the King of the Forest?”
“Indeed! The King is amazing! After all, he is the top disciple of the Ancient Great Sage!”
“Huh…? Who?”
Even hearing the title Ancient Great Sage, Seyi seemed unfamiliar.
He snorted and declared.
“I shall enlighten your ignorance! The Ancient Great Sage, also known as Nicholas Flamel, master of magic, swordsmanship, and alchemy — the strongest user of all arts!”
“Huh? Nicholas Flamel? That Ancient Great Sage guy?”
“That’s right! Isn’t that correct, Sutherland-sama! …Sutherland-sama?”
Abukuzenii turned around and widened his eyes in shock.
The Sutherland who had been so confident just moments ago…
Was trembling violently atop the throne.
Like someone who had encountered something utterly terrifying, he stared at the woman before him with fear-filled eyes.
Meanwhile Seyi stared closely and then…
“Oh, you… aren’t you Sutherland, the snot-nosed brat.”
“Gyaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! S-Seyi-senpaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!”
Sutherland called Seyi “senpai.”
Yes… because—
Sutherland, like Seyi, was also a disciple of Nicholas Flamel…
And Seyi ranked above him — his senior disciple… his elder apprentice sister.
He knew.
This woman was Nicholas Flamel’s top disciple.
He knew.
The terror of this woman.
