I Want A New Robe

Once Vim finished his meal, he found himself with no particular plans for the rest of the day.
“Why don’t you rest a little longer? You seem tired, Master.”
Aria suggested this to him.
“Hm? ‘Master’? Are you talking to me?”
“Yes, sir. Since you are the lord of this manor, ‘Master’ seems appropriate.”
Having never been called “Master” before, Vim felt a bit restless and itchy at the title.
“Can we stop with the ‘Master’ thing? Just call me by my name.”
“Understood. Then I shall call you Master Vim.”
As he thought, that at least felt a bit less awkward.
“Anyway, I’ll take a rest today. Please wake me up at ten tomorrow.”
“Understood. I shall do as you request.”
“Thanks.”
Leaving the living room, Vim headed to his own quarters. Perhaps because his body truly was exhausted, he was able to fall asleep immediately.
The next morning, the sound of a knock on his door woke him up. It seemed he had fallen into a very deep sleep.
“Master Vim, it is time.”
Aria’s voice came from behind the door at the exact second the clock struck ten. Isn’t she a little too good at her job?
“Come in.”
When he spoke, the door opened.
“Thank you. You’ve been a big help.”
“Not at all. Breakfast is ready, so please come down once you’ve finished changing.”
“Got it. I’ll be right there.”
“Then, if you’ll excuse me.”
Aria gave a graceful bow and left the room.
Vim changed into a black shirt and black pants. He left the clothes provided as pajamas on the bed; apparently, Aria would take care of the laundry if he did so. He felt like he was going to turn into a useless human being at this rate.
“Good morning. It seems you slept well.”
James was working again today, impeccably dressed in his tailcoat.
“Thanks to you, I slept great.”
Vim said this as he took his seat. He began eating the breakfast that had been prepared. The breakfast was, naturally, delicious. He finished the meal in no time.
“Um, I want to get some new clothes for quests. Do you know a good place?” Vim asked James.
“There is an excellent shop on the main thoroughfare. Since you are still unfamiliar with this country, Master Vim, I shall guide you.”
“That would be helpful. Is it okay if we go now?”
“Certainly. I shall prepare immediately.”
With that, James left the room. Vim threw on his black robe. He felt that putting this on instantly made him look more like a mage.
“I have kept you waiting. Shall we go?”
As Vim sat on the living room sofa, James returned, having finished his preparations. Vim couldn’t tell what had changed since a few moments ago, but apparently, he was ready.
“Yes, let’s go.”
Vim left the mansion together with James.
