Vim arrived at the 11th floor.

“This is incredible,” Vim murmured to himself.

Here on the 11th floor, no mana drifted through the air at all. Even the slight trace of mana he had felt on the 3rd floor was entirely absent here.

“The deepest part, huh…”

There was likely only one meaning to this. The next floor, the 12th, was the bottom. The reason there was no mana here was probably that it was being siphoned away by the magical beast on the next floor. Therefore, the creature on the next level was expected to be considerably powerful.

Considering the complete lack of detectable mana, there was a high probability that a Labyrinth Guardian resided on the next floor. In other words, it was the labyrinth’s innermost sanctuary.

The time it had taken to get this far was approximately one day—a speed impossible for an ordinary person.

“Guess I’ll try taking it down.”

Vim was about to challenge the Labyrinth Guardian. It was a reckless endeavor, but for some reason, he didn’t feel like he would lose.

Descending the stairs, Vim stepped onto the 12th floor.

“Just as I thought.”

The 12th floor was filled with highly concentrated mana. Just past the stairs, there was something resembling a gate. Passing through this would mean a face-to-face encounter with the Guardian.

“Let’s go.”

Vim pressed forward without hesitation. As he passed under the gate, the ground began to shake.

“What is this?”

The moment that thought crossed his mind, something dropped from above.

“Come, O Wind.”

Vim immediately cleared the dust and debris with wind magic.

“Are you serious…?”

As the dust settled, a black dragon stood there.

“A Black Dragon, huh?”

The Black Dragon is ranked among the highest tier of the dragon kin. To defeat one normally requires three S-rank adventurers or ten A-rank adventurers; anyone below that stands absolutely no chance. Choosing to flee is considered the only wise option.

“Well, isn’t this interesting?”

The corners of Vim’s mouth curled up slightly. How many years had it been since he faced an opponent that made him feel this thrilled? At the very least, he hadn’t encountered one in the last several years.

Vim stood his ground against the Black Dragon.

“GROOOOOOAR!!!!”

The Black Dragon let out a massive roar. The impact made the ground tremble. Then, the dragon exhaled a blast of pale blue flames from its maw.

“Yoop.”

Vim leapt far back, escaping the flames. However, the fire showed no sign of stopping.

Deploy Physical Barrier.

He deployed a defensive wall directly in front of himself. The flames struck the barrier and did not reach Vim, being diverted away entirely.

“It’s no fun if you’re the only one getting to attack.”

Vim spoke while maintaining his distance from the Black Dragon.

Ice Spear.

Countless spears of ice rained down upon the dragon.

“GROOOOAR!!”

The Black Dragon roared once more.

“Hey now, is that all you’ve got, Mr. Black Dragon?”

A dark smile played across Vim’s face. In response, the Black Dragon began flapping its wings, attempting to take flight.

“I don’t think so!”

Vim deployed a new wind spell and fired it straight toward the dragon’s wings.
