The Deepest Sector Of The Dungeon

With every descending floor, the ambient mana density grew increasingly thick. Without proper structural resistance, merely standing in this environment would have been an exceptionally grueling ordeal.
Nevertheless, Vim and his companions systematically advanced through the strata without a single issue. Along the trek to their current depth, Vim had already formulated his definitive conclusion. Without a shadow of a doubt, this site was a certified S-class dungeon.
By this point, the party had successfully breached the perimeter of the twelfth floor.
“We’re getting close,” Vim noted, tracking a sudden shift in his internal loops.
“To what, Lord Vim?” Hana asked.
“The absolute deepest domain of the dungeon.”
“Eh? We’ve managed to venture that far down already?”
“Yeah. Judging by the resonance of the atmospheric mana and the behavioral patterns of the local hostiles, there is absolutely zero room for doubt. We are right on the verge of the bottom floor.”
Once a caster becomes deeply accustomed to navigating dungeons, they can calculate these spatial transitions strictly through raw intuition.
“How do you two want to proceed? If you prefer to withdraw, this is our absolute last window of opportunity to turn back safely.”
Secured at the absolute deepest domain of any dungeon was the true Dungeon Master—the Ultimate Guardian. The raw power parameters of such an entity were widely celebrated as completely overwhelming. Vim had engaged one in combat once in his past career, and it had left a deep impression on him as a monster operating on an entirely different tier compared to regular beasts.
“Since we’ve successfully navigated all the way down here, I highly want to see it through! To the deepest sector!” Hana declared.
“The same applies to me. I would love to test the absolute limits of my current capabilities and see how my blade fares against a top-tier threat,” Misa chimed in.
“Understood. In that case, let’s move out.”
Both of his companions were bursting with an exceptional volume of motivation. Evaluating their prior performance against the Floor Guardian, their combat coordination was perfectly locked in. Short of a localized cataclysm, they would do perfectly fine.
Moving as a single unit, Vim and his party descended the final steps to the next stratum.
“Here we are.”
The thirteenth floor was entirely barren, completely devoid of any drifting atmospheric mana. By this point, the meaning behind this specific environmental readout was painfully obvious to everyone.
“So a remarkably powerful entity is stationed directly on the floor below, correct?”
“Yeah. It is highly anticipated that the next stratum represents the absolute deepest domain.”
“We’ve finally reached the climax, haven’t we?” Hana murmured, her voice carrying a distinct trace of nervous tension.
“Prepare yourselves for immediate high-caliber combat.”
““Understood!””
With their resolve firmly anchored, Vim and his companions formally crossed the threshold into the next floor.
True to their calculations, the stratum unfolded into the absolute deepest domain of the dungeon. The spatial architecture matched the textbook blueprint utilized by bottom-tier chambers perfectly. Mirroring the mechanics of the Floor Guardian, the Ultimate Guardian was bound to spontaneously manifest the exact split second they stepped inside its tracking radius.
“Let’s proceed.”
Vim led his frontline units toward the absolute center of the grand chamber to intentionally trigger the boss’s sensory perimeter. Right as they neared the focal point of the floor, the threshold was crossed.
“So you’ve finally decided to show your face…” Vim murmured, the corners of his mouth curling upward into a faint smirk.
Materializing directly ahead of their position was a colossal, pitch-black wyvern. Ominous, pale-blue flames were actively venting from the gaps of its massive jaws.
“Execute immediate tactical retreat to create a safe distance!”
““Right!””
The party instantly leaped backward, opening a wide spatial gap between themselves and the wyvern. Vim registered an exceptionally massive chunk of raw magical energy radiating from its signature—a parameter vastly superior to any standard wyvern.
“Reinforced Barrier Matrix.”
Layering his spellcraft, Vim mapped a significantly more powerful, higher-tier kinetic defense matrix directly over the initial support arrays he had woven onto his companions’ frames.
“Remarkable…” Misa breathed.
“We have absolutely zero time to waste on astonishment! It’s moving in!” Hana barked.
The colossal wyvern was already accelerating along a direct vector toward their coordinates. Hana and Misa dropped into a textbook vanguard stance, their blades firmly raised to receive the threat.
“To the Spirits of Wind, I dictate the terms of execution! Cleave!!”
Vim drove a violent, compressed blade of wind straight toward the wyvern’s massive wing structures. Regardless of the world or the specific tier of the threat, an airborne hostile is always an exceptionally tedious problem to calculate. Therefore, the absolute smartest strategy was to simply strip away its capacity to take flight from the start.
Vim’s spell connected with flawless, millimeter precision, slamming squarely into the wyvern’s wing.
