Having concluded their initial investigation of the dungeon, Vim and his companions set off on the walking path back toward the city of Heim. After marching for roughly several tens of minutes, the town perimeter came back into view.

“For starters, let’s simply get the formal reporting out of the way without delay.”

“I agree,” Hana replied. “Once that loop is closed, we can finally head back to the Royal Capital.”

“Too true,” Misa chimed in.

They were well on track to check off the reporting sequence long before the sun dipped beneath the horizon. Navigating the busy streets of Heim, they stepped across the threshold into the local guild branch.

“I need to speak with the Branch Master. I have a formal mission update to deliver.”

Approaching the general inquiry desk, Vim presented his adventurer card to the attendant.

“Understood, my Lord. I shall ensure you are routed through to his office immediately.” The receptionist handled their request with absolute efficiency.

“The Branch Master will see you right away. Right this way, please.”

With that, Vim and his companions were escorted straight into the Branch Master’s private executive office.

“Welcome back. I trust the dungeon investigation went smoothly? Please, make yourselves comfortable and take a seat.”

Answering the Branch Master’s invitation, the party settled onto the plush sofas.

“Mind you, your operational turnaround time is remarkably fast. Exactly how deep into the strata did your party manage to penetrate?”

“We navigated all the way down to the absolute deepest domain.”

“Pardon? You must be joking, surely? A mere three hours have elapsed since your initial departure!”

“We possess definitive material proof, you know.”

Vim reached into his magic bag to extract the massive wyvern core, placing the glowing sphere squarely onto the table surface.

“T-This… this is undeniably a nucleus harvested from a cataclysmic boss-tier entity…” The Branch Master’s features completely locked into an expression of pure, unadulterated shock.

“I suppose I should have expected nothing less from the legendary figure widely celebrated by the moniker ‘The Mager of the Abyss’ and his elite unit. So, based on your field data, what is your official assessment of the site?”

“Regarding that boundary, you can officially certify it as an S-class dungeon with zero structural reservations. Hostiles operating on that absolute caliber are roaming the corridors in heavy clusters. Any ordinary vanguard unit attempting to engage them would be systematically obliterated.”

“Understood. I shall ensure the administrative paperwork is processed under those exact parameters immediately.”

“Furthermore, please enforce a strict entry restriction limiting access exclusively to A-rank adventurers and above. Any unit possessing a power parameter below that threshold will guaranteed be slaughtered on the very first floor.”

“To think an absolute death trap of that magnitude was comprehensively conquered by a mere three individuals in such a compressed timeframe… I understand. I shall lock in the security directives.” The Branch Master set to work updating the guild logs on the spot.

“Excellent. With our duties checked off, we shall begin our journey back to the Capital. We shall take our leave now.”

“You have my immense gratitude for your flawless service, sir. Safe travels to your party on the road back.”

“Thank you. Should another major anomaly arise in this sector, route a direct dispatch to my attention through the Capital’s Guild Headquarters. I shall exert every ounce of my strength to respond as swiftly as my schedule permits.”

“That is an incredibly reassuring promise.”

With the reporting loop officially closed, Vim and his companions stepped out of the Heim Guild Branch.

“If we execute our departure from the city perimeter right now, we should make landfall back in the Capital by the day after tomorrow.”

“Yes, that sounds about right.”

“I highly hope we can navigate the return trip without encountering a single disaster this time,” Misa noted with a wry smile.

“Too true.”

Mounting the grand carriage waiting in the courtyard, Vim and his party formally left the city of Heim behind them.

The return journey proceeded along a remarkably peaceful vector, completely devoid of rogue entities. By the time they had successfully cruised past roughly two transit towns, the twilight began to bleed across the horizon.

“Looks like we’ll be logging a stay in the next upcoming town for tonight,” Vim murmured, absentmindedly gazing out through the glass window of the carriage.
