The End Of The Conference And Return

About three hours after the conference began, Vim was called back to the reception room in Griffint Castle.
“Vim, it seems you’ve done it again,” King Leoria said, placing a hand on his forehead.
“Well… yes, I suppose so.”
“Defeating a Demon… I’m getting tired of being surprised.”
“I’ll try not to cause you any more stress, Your Majesty.”
“I’d appreciate that.”
The King lifted his heavy frame from the sofa.
“Is the meeting with the Emperor already finished?”
“Yes, we just wrapped up.”
This time, Emperor Griffint spoke up.
“Shall we head back to Leoria, then?”
“Yes, let’s head back.”
“Understood. I will open the path to the royal capital of Leoria, then.”
Three hours was plenty of time for Vim’s mana to recover.
“Well then, I shall take my leave,” King Leoria said.
Since King Leoria was a busy man, he needed to return to his kingdom immediately to keep his absence as short as possible.
“Here goes.”
With those words, Vim deployed his spatial magic, expanding it until it connected directly to the royal palace in Leoria.
Stepping through the portal, Vim and the others arrived in the royal capital of Leoria in an instant.
“This is incredible…”
The knights seeing spatial magic for the first time gasps in awe.
“Good work,” King Leoria said as they faced each other in the palace reception room.
“Not at all. I’m just glad the conference went well.”
“Yes, it looks like we’ll be able to form an alliance smoothly. This is all thanks to you defeating the Demon, Vim.”
The King flashed a wry smile.
“I’m sorry. Did I overdo it a bit?”
“No, leaving a Demon unchecked would have been the real problem. I’m truly grateful this time.”
Indeed, thinking about what would have happened if that Demon had been left alone was terrifying.
“Thank you, Your Majesty.”
“As for your reward this time, I’ll transfer it into the shared account. Make sure to check it later.”
“Understood.”
“That’s all from me. Do you have anything to add, Vim?”
“No, nothing in particular.”
“I see. Get some good rest, then.”
“Thank you very much.”
Saying that, Vim and his party left the royal palace.
“It feels like it’s been a while, doesn’t it?” said Misa, walking beside him.
“Well, we were away from the capital for two weeks, after all.”
Two weeks felt short, yet somehow long at the same time.
After walking a few minutes from the palace, they arrived at his mansion.
“Welcome home, Master.”
When they entered the mansion, James and Aria were there to greet them.
“We’re back.”
“We have been eagerly awaiting your return.”
“I’m glad to see you’ve kept the place well-maintained as always.”
“It is our duty to protect this estate, after all.” James bowed respectfully.
“I’ll be resting in my room until dinner.”
“As you wish.”
“Hana, Misa, feel free to relax however you like.”
With that, Vim headed to his room for the first time in two weeks.
