Vim sees the massive horde of demonic beasts.

“Vim, what should we do?”

“This might be a bit too much for you and Misa to handle…”

Vim tells them exactly what he sees.

Some of the beasts are flying.

Since Hana and Misa are not good at long-range attacks, the odds are heavily against them.

“No way…”

“Are we useless again…?”

The two girls look down.

“No, there is still a way. Here is the plan.”

“Yes!”

“First, we meet them here.”

Behind them is a forest, and ahead is a barren wasteland.

No matter how much magic is fired, the damage will be minimal.

“Diana, can I count on you to wipe out the flying beasts?”

“Leave it to me, Master.”

Diana is the only one who can make long-range attacks.

Vim wants to focus on the enemies on the ground, so he wants her to handle the enemies in the sky.

“Thanks. I’m going to wipe out the enemies on the ground. With this many beasts, there must be a leader. While I go strike them down, I’m trusting the two of you to guard my back. Can you do it?”

“Of course.”

“Leave it to us.”

Both nod immediately.

“Alright, let’s do this!”

Through search magic, Vim can feel the massive horde of beasts gradually pressing in.

It’s been a long time since he felt this way.

They say experienced, strong people rarely panic, even in a crisis.

Vim feels himself remaining calm deep down.

“Here they come…”

Vim confirms the beasts are close enough to be seen with the naked eye.

“Leave the sky to me.”

“Yeah, counting on you.”

The moment Diana whispers this, countless spears of light cloaked in thunder appear.

“Go!”

At her command, the spears fly into the sky.

They pierce the beasts, and one after another, the flying creatures are slammed to the ground.

“Impressive as always.”

“Not as much as you, Master. After all, I can only use the light element.”

“That’s plenty impressive. I can’t afford to lose, either.”

Wind cloaked in lightning sweeps through the beasts on the ground.

Even so, only about thirty percent of the beasts have been defeated.

“Where is it, where are you…?”

Vim searches through the massive horde of beasts for the leader.

“Found you…”

“Huh, where is it?”

“The demon in the center of the beasts seems to be leading this herd.”

The problem is how to get there.

At this rate, he has to push through the swarm of demons.

“Master, use that.”

“Use what?”

“Seraphic Gate.”

Diana said, a smile pulling up the corner of her right lip.

“I see. But last time I used that, I collapsed…”

“You now have my power within you, Master. There should be no cost.”

“You can do that too?”

“I am a Spirit King, after all.”

Diana sticks out her chest with a smug face.

Vim looks back at the sky and sees her firing countless arrows of light.

“Then I won’t hesitate to use it.”

‘I, who have formed a contract with the Spirit King of Light, do beseech thee. Grant me that spirit’s divine protection.’
