Gina’s room was a cramped, six-mat space with only a tiny window.

It was stark, furnished with a rough-looking single bed and a single wardrobe, hardly fitting for a girl’s room.

So this was how things turned out for a personal servant assigned to a low-status prince.

“Let’s get right to practicing, then. Gina, will you be my target?”

“Yes.”

First, I secured Gina’s consent.

“Spirit of lightning wandering the heavens, reveal your will. Thunder.”

Magic in this world had chants, but in the original story, you basically didn’t need to use them.

It was just that the desire to actually chant it now that I was in a position to use magic won out over everything else.

This was practice, not a real fight, anyway.

And so, I chanted the spell and released it toward her.

“Nn.”

Thinking she would dodge, I panicked when she didn’t, taking the flash of lightning straight to the chest and letting out a soft groan.

“Hey, Gina.”

I leaned forward involuntarily, but she smiled back at me.

“I’m fine. A little bit is nothing.”

Well, since the level gap was so clear, hitting her with two or three shots probably wouldn’t cause any real problems, though.

“Thunder is fast, so it’s easy to land hits. Or can you dodge it if you try?”

I asked Gina.

“Lightning and wind are quite difficult. Fire, water, and earth are easier to dodge.”

I nodded in understanding at her reply.

As expected, if I was going to learn anything, I should focus on lightning and wind.

There were technically types of enemies strong against both wind and lightning, but I shouldn’t run into them for a while.

I would get stronger by then and figure out some countermeasures.

Let’s just go with a vague plan for that part.

Since I was satisfied for now after casting it once, I tried firing off magic without a chant.

“Thunder.”

This time, it hit right in the stomach.

“Your aim is very accurate, Master.”

Gina looked impressed, but I didn’t really get it myself.

Did magic normally fly off to random places at first?

“Is that how it works?”

If I had to form a hypothesis, wouldn’t someone like me, who recovered the memories of a past life, have an advantage over people in this world who hadn’t received any training?

I couldn’t think of any other reason why there would be a gap.

Well, I had thought being Rasta was tough, but I decided to take it positively as proof there were good things about it too.

“At this rate, it looks like we can use it in actual combat starting tomorrow.”

I felt a good response.

“Yes. You’re wonderful. I’ll do my best too.”

Gina pumped herself up.

“Yeah. I’m counting on you.”

Without her, I wouldn’t even be able to explore the Shoisa Cave.

When I thought about that, I really wanted to review our equipment and gear.

There should be a budget for it, but keeping a low profile made it difficult.
