“And so, though it may be presumptuous, I shall be your special host today!”

In the auditorium lined with long desks, Cordelia—wearing the long robe of the magic school uniform—spoke while looking at the students. Isaac stood quietly beside her, with teachers and attendants waiting nearby.

Having hosted many events as Hina’s assistant in her previous life, Cordelia carried herself confidently. —For now she ignored that hosting was originally Hina’s job.

“Hmph. Can ‘Prince-obsessed Cordie-chan’ really handle that?”

The one sneering was Jean, seated in the front row with fiery red hair.

He was second only to Cordelia in talent, the group’s leader—effectively the ringleader. Because he disliked Isaac, the others hesitated to approach him, making Jean the root cause.

“You’re noisy, Jean the Potato. Be quiet.”

“Don’t call me a crop variety! I don’t resemble a potato at all!”

Cordelia ignored him.

Jean was undeniably handsome—because he too was a hero candidate, known as the “Passionate Flame Mage,” and a possible partner for the Holy Maiden.

Naturally handsome, long-limbed, with lively competitive eyes and confident vitality like a young tree, and heir to a count’s house—he drew admiration from girls everywhere.

But for Cordelia, devoted to Isaac since her previous life, every man besides him looked like a potato—indeed lower than an actual crop.

His irritation at her attitude and superior grades made them rivals.

“More importantly! Today we shall hold a ‘fire-snuffing game’ to deepen bonds with Prince Isaac!”

“You mean that thing they make us do right after enrollment?”

Cordelia nodded.

The game lined candles in a row and used magic to extinguish them one by one without damaging them, testing fine control.

“It’s too easy now.”

“So I prepared fifty candles at varying heights! And whoever beats Prince Isaac will have him obey any request for a day!”

Murmurs spread. Isaac nodded agreement, and Jean’s eyes gleamed.

“Anything? Even becoming my servant for a day?”

Everyone watched Isaac. He replied calmly,

“Gladly—if you defeat me.”

A quiet fighting spirit shone in his eyes.

Jean grinned. “I’m in!”

“Anyone else? It’s just a game, all are welcome.”

Smiling inwardly at the reaction, Cordelia briskly prepared.

(As expected, bold rewards draw interest.)
