I walked over to the kids in the Daoist robes and held out the griddle cakes. I say it without hesitation: there is no better way to make a friend than handing somebody a tasty snack.
“Hi there. I brought some griddle cakes I made to snack on, want some?”
The one standing right at the front blinked at me vacantly, then put out a hand without thinking and took one. He looked about my age, and there was something so languid about his face that he seemed only half awake.
Plum blossom scent?
