One of the bhikkhunis—the one who seemed highest in rank—shouted.
Before her cry finished, two of them were already falling.
Crack! Thud!
Each crisp impact sent another comrade crashing down.
They moved so fast the eye couldn’t follow.
No one had the courage to resist.
‘…Where did these absurd people come from?’
Flustered, she flailed her sword in desperation; her opponent was too quick to see or react to.
It didn’t take long for her to realize the struggle was futile.
By the time she sensed the danger it was already irreversible: a small foot—belonging to the child in the Guan Yu mask—had driven into her abdomen.
She couldn’t even cry out; the air had been driven from her lungs.
She flew three meters, slammed against a tree with a bang, and slid down—unconscious.
Yu Seol lowered the foot she’d raised and asked softly.
“Grandpa, are we far from the destination?”
At that moment Yu Jinsan was felling his last opponent.
The final bhikkhuni went limp and slumped.
He’d taken on three of the eight, and it had taken him a little longer.
“It’s all over. Good work.”
“Yeah, grandpa too.”
Yu Jinsan brushed his hands and glanced over the bhikkhunis his granddaughter had downed.
“They’re not dead, right? Good grief—you hit them well.”
“No, I avoided the vital spots when I hit them.”
“Well done. These pests only needed a light touch.”
Except for one, they were all second-generation disciples.
So Yu Jinsan had no need to be fatal; he’d only rendered them unconscious.
“Yeah. Let’s hurry, Grandpa—let’s go collect the treasures.”
The grandparent-grandchild duo slipped through the gate and headed toward Mount Emei’s summit.
They had no intention of sneaking.
“Even if we hide that we’re the Yin Yang Twin Monster, once it’s over the Emei Sect will point to us as the culprits.”
“Huh? Is that okay?”
“What does it matter without evidence? Besides, I’ll leave enough suspicion. Then it’s revenge against the Murim Alliance leader, right?”
Yu Seol giggled at the thought.
“Hehe. Got it. But the Murim Alliance leader will hate us.”
“Hmm. Hate is one thing—he’ll probably try to kill us.”
Yu Seol hunched her shoulders and pretended to tremble.
“Sca-ry~ Sca-ry~”
“If you’re scared, why are you laughing?”
The eyes visible through the mask were smiling; she looked excited despite her act.
By the time their small chat ended, they’d already reached their destination.
Side by side they strode boldly through Emei Sect’s main gate.
Two bhikkhunis guarding the entrance stood bewildered and tried to block them.
There was no need to argue with these rookies.
Instead of answering, Yu Jinsan and Yu Seol thrust a front foot forward together.
Crack! Thump!
The two guards crumpled, not understanding what had struck them.
As the commotion swelled, nearby bhikkhunis turned their attention.
They couldn’t grasp what was happening; they only blinked in confusion.
Yu Jinsan didn’t glance at them; he scanned the surroundings.
His gaze landed on the pavilion far off—the tallest structure above the rest.
On the nameplate: Great Rising Pavilion
“Seems there’s something valuable in there.”
“I thought so too. Let’s go!”
What was there to hesitate about?
They launched into the air in new postures at the same time.
The watching bhikkhunis were frozen, not knowing what to do.
These strange figures had appeared and were walking on air, flying deep into the sect’s interior.
It looked like an illusion to them.
Everyone hesitated with blank faces.
An elderly bhikkhuni came running and shouted.
“Intruders! Sound the alarm!”
Only then did the others come to their senses and draw weapons.
Cheng! Cha-chae-cheng!
They ran toward where the intruders had vanished, but by then the duo had already entered the pavilion.
The pavilion sat at the highest point of the Emei Sect; it was where the elders discussed the sect’s major affairs.
At that moment, two elders sat at a small table with their heads together.
“Elder Geum-hee, you’ve heard about it too, haven’t you?”
“Today Eun Jeong’s attendant claims to have seen the Yin Yang Twin Monster at the Chengdu market.”
“The Yin Yang Twin Monster? That can’t be. Those bastards should be in Shaanxi—why are they here…?”
“Even the name makes my blood boil, but it seems to be true. As soon as she saw them, Eun Jeong’s attendant ran here without even taking a breath.”
Elder Geum-hee heaved a deep sigh.
“Just thinking of what those bastards did chills me to the bone. I hope they don’t come this way.”
“It’s truly worrying. With no chief abbot here, if they attack…”
Isn’t it true—words can plant seeds?
Suddenly the pavilion shook as though it would collapse with a tremendous noise.
Their gazes turned toward the wall from which the sound had come.
A single fist had punched a hole through the wall.
After a moment the arm pulled back and a head slid through the hole.
A masked face peered in, scanning the interior.
“Wh-who are you?”
The bright eyes behind the mask paid them no heed.
The strange figure glanced around the room and said a single line.
“Me? I’m Guan Yu.”
It was the clear, refreshing voice of a little girl.
The elders were flustered and felt a chill of dread.
No bhikkhuni would be so brazen as to mock them.
As if to prove it, the alarm bell for an external intrusion rang out.
Just as the elders grabbed their weapons.
Yu Seol, for the moment, pulled her head back out of the hole.
Yu Jinsan, waiting outside, asked his granddaughter.
“How is it? Is there anything inside?”
“No. There’s no treasure chest, but there’s a single Buddha statue at the back emitting a blue glow.”
“I don’t know what it is, but it’s a luxury item for these bhikkhunis who don’t study scriptures; they could sell it for a high price to another temple.”
While they chatted, two elders who had been inside came running out.
They’d run around the pavilion.
But they couldn’t rush in.
They were small in build, their martial level unknown, and their audacity boundless.
Even masked, the elders could easily guess the pair’s identities.
The grandparent-grandchild duo shook their heads in unison.
“No we aren’t. Do you have proof?”
Yu Seol feigned innocence; the elders reacted with disbelief.
“Proof? What kind of proo—”
There was no reason to hear the answer to the end.
Before the old bhikkhuni could finish speaking, the duo darted at them like lightning.
Elders below the Supreme realm couldn’t hope to stop the Yin Yang Twin Monster’s ambush.
The ambush began with a flurry of crisp impacts.
Crack! Snap!
“Guh-agh!”
The elders flew meters and hit the ground with a thud, faces twisted in humiliation.
Before them, the small child in the Guan Yu mask yelled.
“I’ll go get it right away!”
Meanwhile Yu Jinsan took out the bundle he’d prepared and opened it.
In an instant the granddaughter reappeared holding a Buddha statue that shimmered with blue light.
“Here, put it in quickly.”
They were stealing the Great Rising Pavilion’s Buddha in plain sight. The fallen elders watched, convulsing.
“No, no!”
“Th-that must never happen…”
Their screams didn’t reach Yu Jinsan.
“Tsk. If you’d been accumulating merit, would you be suffering like this? This is karmic retribution for the Emei Sect’s dirty deeds.”
“Hm, the Yin Yang Twin Monster… you will surely regret this.”
As if he couldn’t tolerate it, Yu Jinsan struck one elder’s face with the top of his foot.
He had no shred of goodwill toward the Emei Sect.
It was tied to a family nemesis and the bitter fate he endured at Mount Emei’s training grounds.
‘Be grateful that I’m not killing you.’
When he looked aside, hundreds of bhikkhunis were rushing in with swords drawn.
They could no longer stay.
“Let’s hurry and go find other treasures.”
Yu Jinsan took the lead, and Yu Seol slung the bundle over her shoulder and followed.
“How much do you think we could get if we sold this?”
“I’ve never seen a statue with that hue, Grandpa either. I’m not sure, but we could probably get fifty silver coins.”
“Wow~ We hit the jackpot.”
“This won’t be enough. Our burned-down house alone was worth three hundred silver coins.”
They couldn’t even imagine how much the statue they’d stuffed into the bundle was really worth.
They moved through the pavilions, scouting for the next spot.
Surroundings churned with bhikkhunis closing in to capture them.
“Catch them!”
“Those bastards stole the Banya Honored Buddha statue!”
“We must catch them!!”
They had no intention of returning anything.
Emei Sect, as they saw it, was exactly as they’d expected.
It was a temple in name only; there was no trace of true virtuous monks—only martial monks everywhere they went.
At that moment Yu Jinsan scanned the area and pointed with his index finger.
“Child, let’s go over that way.”
They spotted a pavilion with the strictest guard in the area.
Four bhikkhunis with evidently great martial strength guarded the entrance.
Their intense aura could be felt even here—like the Four Great Vajras of Shaolin.
In any case, the duo stepped on the air and advanced toward it.
Beside him Yu Seol asked eagerly.
“What do you think is inside there?”
“If Grandpa’s hunch is right, there’ll probably be a martial arts manual.”
If it was an Emei martial manual—one of the Nine Forbidden Rooms—it would fetch a very high price.
Even a few volumes would be enough.
As they approached, the bhikkhunis’ shouts sharpened.
“Th-they’re heading toward the Sutra Pavilion!!”
“We must stop them!”
In temples, the place that stores books is called the Sutra Pavilion.
Yu Jinsan’s guess, as expected, was correct.
As they closed in, the four bhikkhunis guarding it reacted.
Four spears shot like arrows toward the duo.
At a glance, those spears carried considerable force.
As they neared, Yu Jinsan and Yu Seol rotated their postures in midair.
Dodging the flying spears, the duo descended like birds and closed the distance.
Then the bhikkhunis guarding the Sutra Pavilion simultaneously drew their swords.
“How dare you!”
Their controlled movements were on another level compared to the others.
Amazingly, all four were at the ultra-peak level.
Moreover, the way they formed up was unusual.
‘These ones will be troublesome.’
If he had to face them alone, they’d give him trouble.
Yu Jinsan considered drawing the spear he carried on his back, then hesitated.
“Child. Grandpa will go in alone and grab it; buy me some time.”
“Okay. Bring back lots!”
They split and moved in opposite directions.
Yu Seol headed toward the entrance guarded by the strong bhikkhunis.
Yu Jinsan lightly landed on the Sutra Pavilion’s roof.
‘I must grab what I can and get out as quickly as possible.’
Soon his palm, wrapped in energy, struck the roof.
Peeking through the blown-open ceiling, he saw countless bookshelves.
Without a second thought he leapt inside.
At that moment the commotion outside intensified; a fight must have begun.
Judging by the sounds, it hadn’t escalated beyond a manageable level.
Yu Jinsan looked around, perplexed.
“Good grief. What on earth should I pack?”
There looked to be thousands of books.
Which among them were martial arts manuals, and which of those had real value?
He couldn’t just stuff anything into the bundle blindly.
He sighed and scanned the room.
Suddenly his eyes flashed.
‘…What’s that?’
