Auriel Kingdom is completely the opposite of the Caesar Federation, a totally different country.
Auriel is a faith-based nation, while the Caesar Federation is a militaristic state that relies entirely on machines.
But the Auriel Queen has been the dominant power here since Auriel I.
So much so that for a long time the only enemy the Auriel Kingdom had was itself.
The Four Great Knight Orders and the Four Great Knight Families have long competed at the Knight Academy for the blessing of the Knight King and Queen Auriel.
This is also one reason why Auriel’s knights are extraordinary.
“Little brother Eren, I’m leaving first. Please pass a message to Young Master Naiye for me: we don’t need so many people here; the Three Moons Knight Order leaving for now won’t be a problem.”
“Alright………”
The Silver Moon knights commanded elegantly and swiftly, and the Three Moons Knight Order immediately withdrew from the area.
Eren’s clear dragon pupils looked curiously at Naiye Lycoris.
Why did the Caesar Federation become so powerful? Why are they so dependent on mechanical technology? Why does it resemble Lycoris’s magical technology so completely?
Over sixty-something years ago, after Naiye’s grandfather created magical technology, one of his assistants stole this powerful tech.
He fled to the north.
Relying on that technology, in just sixty years the Caesar Federation surged forward with unstoppable force along a completely different path.
Their technology was purely mechanical, and the state was a hardline militarism.
Naiye Lycoris’s grandfather greatly regretted it, and so he restricted magical technology.
Based on the Lycoris family’s magical talent, magical technology was reshaped to rely primarily on the Lycoris’s mana, with technology as a supplement.
It became pure magical technology, and thus this powerful technology could be said to be unique to the Lycoris family.
The Lycoris family thereby rose to become the fifth family, second only to the Four Great Families.
Even so, it couldn’t change the fact that magical technology had caused wars, even if it wasn’t the fault of Lycoris’s grandfather.
“Hmm………”
Young Master Naiye picked up a mechanical wreck stamped with a jet-black skull, inspecting it as if bored and casual.
“Duke Lycoris, does the Caesar Federation want to sabotage your relationship with the Academy? Why attack at this particular time?”
Eren came up beside Naiye; he couldn’t understand what purpose the attack served.
Because every knight here wouldn’t take these robots seriously.
“Don’t call me Duke Lycoris. I’m a student now; you don’t have to be so formal with titles and etiquette. But what you just said isn’t actually correct.”
“Ahem, okay, Naiye, weren’t these robots attacking you to cause destruction?”
Eren’s direct form of address amused Young Master Naiye; Eren might be an unexpected friend.
“This attack from the Caesar Federation is actually just to show they’re present.”
A rather odd reason to assert their presence.
But the Dragon Knight family didn’t understand this either, and Eren, this young man, only understood a little about magical technology.
“Hey, Naiye! I told you this place would be fierce; you’d better be careful.”
Not far off, Fire Lina stomped on a machine head; her fiery high-heeled shoes continuously spat flames, burning the machines on the ground to cinders.
She warned Naiye with a fierce look.
Then she turned and left with the Elemental Knights.
She was the same as ever; after being blessed by the Fire element she had indeed grown much stronger, but her temper had become very violent and her tone increasingly harsh.
“Miss Nia, can I leave this place in your hands?”
“Yes, leave it to me.”
Nia obediently followed the Student Council President’s order; President Meiyu turned her head.
With the same kind smile and eyes narrowed, she came before Naiye.
“Young Master Naiye, let’s enter the Auriel Knight Academy first. The head of the Disciplinary Committee will guide you to your residence.”
No sooner had President Meiyu finished speaking than the aloof Ice Tina approached Young Master Naiye.
She gave an elegant salute and expressionlessly led Naiye into the Auriel Knight Academy.
It was a small manor, though in scale and rank it did not match Young Master Naiye’s estate at home.
But the facilities prepared for Naiye were complete, doing their utmost to meet all of his highest-level needs.
And it occupied a very good location: north of the center of the Auriel Knight Academy, close to the Student Council building.
“Hmm………”
Young Master Naiye sat in a swiveling single armchair, briefly feeling the warmth and texture of its back.
He was somewhat dissatisfied.
Not great, still a bit worse than at home, but he didn’t care about that.
He then examined the room carefully.
Everything was prepared, and the details were cleaned thoroughly; it was even arranged as much as possible according to Young Master Naiye’s habits.
That was pretty good.
But…….
Naiye approached a huge mirror.
The mirror reflected his graceful appearance, but the Young Master Naiye in it frowned as he scrutinized himself.
The mirror was large enough to show his entire body.
He didn’t have the habit of looking in mirrors, so why was such a large mirror placed here?
Naiye had a vague feeling that the mirror wasn’t ordinary, but he couldn’t pinpoint why.
“Young Master Naiye.”
A female knight’s voice came, carrying a slight chill—clearly not Weiluxika.
Young Master Naiye did not stand but twisted the armchair to face her.
Sure enough, he saw the ice-blue Ice Element Knight Tina standing at the doorway.
Young Master Naiye nodded, motioning for her to come in.
Outside, Naiye’s two magical automaton knights could be seen moving luggage and furniture, while Weiluxika gave more detailed instructions nearby.
But the Dark Knight remained very vigilant, keeping most of her attention on Young Master Naiye inside.
Ice Tina performed an elegant, steady salute and asked in an icy tone.
“I’m here to see how you feel. Is there anything else you need?”
Naiye actually wanted to replace some things that were a bit uncomfortable, but after thinking he decided not to trouble Tina for now.
Because he had something to ask her.
“No, it’s fine. I think it’s quite good.”
“Very well, I’ll take my leave.”
Tina, wearing the beret symbolizing the Disciplinary Committee, bowed her head slightly and then promptly took her leave.
As if everything were strictly official, even that question carried no emotion.
It seemed this chill transformation was still the result of the Ice element’s blessing.
Those who knew Tina knew that before becoming Ice Tina she had been gentle, very caring toward others, and conscientious in everything she did.
Her reputation had been good even before she became an Ice Element Knight.
“Stop.”
Ice Tina’s foot, which had been about to leave, trembled and she turned back.
She turned around, not meeting Young Master Naiye’s eyes but instinctively lowering her head.
She asked in an emotionless tone.
“Young Master Naiye, do you need anything else?”
“Take off your armor and come sit beside me.”
