Inside the mirror.
After a long period of time.
Gu Changqing, who had been sitting cross-legged on the peak of the mountain, slowly opened his eyes.
He stared calmly at the beautiful woman before him and spoke quietly, “I’ve come to the critical moment where I gather my dao. I may need some additional private time.”
Bai Qing’er nodded obediently and revealed a sweet smile and gentle gaze.
“I know. I won’t let anyone disturb you. Just focus on cultivation.”
Gu Changqing had a slightly conflicted look in his eyes, but it was just for a moment. It was quickly replaced by unending iciness.
He opened his mouth, but didn’t say anything in the end. Then he shut his eyes again and began cultivating.
Qi began spewing around Gu Changqing, weaving in the skies to create a giant qi hurricane. The immense amount of qi was like a flood as it poured down on his body.
Time was passing by slowly.
And as time passed, Gu Changqing’s aura began to increase more and more.
One day passed.
This place was still very calm.
Night fell.
Outside the skies, terrifying, billowing dark clouds suddenly appeared.
The dark clouds covered heaven and earth, swallowing mountains and rivers.
The gentleness in Bai Qing’er’s eyes disappeared in an instant and replaced with iciness.
She leaped into the sky.
And began fighting off the thick, dark layer of countless Unorthodox cultivators.
“Your Highness, please don’t make things difficult for us,” the leader of these cultivators called out to her in a loud voice.
Bai Qing’er’s expression remained resolute and her gaze was frosty. “Anyone who dares to come within half a mile of this place shall die!”
After a brief moment of silence, the dark cloud of cultivators suddenly rushed over. Their target was Gu Changqing.
Bai Qing’er’s expression turned even frostier as she flew higher up at a speed that rivalled lightning.
In that moment.
The silver moon turned into a blood moon.
In the skies, the cultivators were falling like rain.
The empty sky was like hell of sorts. The lives of the cultivators came to an end, one after another, the shrieks and screams never stopped. Their blood dyed the sky red.
Bai Qing’er went on a massive killing spree, clearly hoping that it would be enough to warn the others and stop more cultivators from coming forward.
But even so.
Despite being faced with a massacre, the cultivators did not fall back. They continued surging toward Gu Changqing like a flood.
Bai Qing’er knew very well what would happen to Gu Changqing if he were to be brought back to the Unorthodox Sect.
Her gaze was frosty and her murderous intent grew as high as the ocean waves.
This bloody battle lasted a full three days.
Three days later, the vast mountain range was covered in corpses and bones lying on the ground. The peaks were dyed red from blood.
Amidst the endless pile of corpses, one Bai Qing’er in black stood proudly.
She was covered in so many wounds and the bloodstains on her dress made her seem even more alluring.
“I said, whoever dares to come within half a mile of this place will die!”
This voice was filled with mixed emotions, but it was also full of determination.
And right now.
Gu Changqing’s aura had become more and more terrifying.
It felt like a deity that could rule the world had descended to earth. His aura was about to smite the heavens, like the sun. Divine runes encircled him, his divine glow too brilliant to look at.
Bai Qing’er turned to look back at Gu Changqing. The frostiness in her eyes was instantly replaced with gentleness.
“Brother Changqing, I won’t let anyone disturb you.”
Bai Qing’er quietly muttered these words to herself, then leaped into the sky to scan the area warily.
In no time, another large batch of Unorthodox cultivators came surging forward.
Bai Qing’er didn’t bother to say anything and just focused on killing.
Anyone who came too close was killed without question.
Until the fifth day.
The entire mountain range was littered with the corpses of Unorthodox cultivators. The incredible amount of raging, wrathful qi filled the skies and swallowed mountains and rivers.
Bai Qing’er’s gaze was as cold as ice. There was no emotion in them whatsoever. Only frostiness.
In that moment, everyone outside the mirror felt like they could see the future Unorthodox Empress that they knew in this cheek and innocent young woman.
On the fifth day, the sun had just risen.
Three figures had arrived.
They were dressed entirely in black robes and covered in a terrifying aura that spewed forth from around them and filled the skies.
These three were all Supremes.
“Qing’er, why are you still so obstinate?” The leader of the trio was covered in murderous qi, so one could not see his face clearly.
But these words were filled with conflicted emotions, so it was clear that he knew Bai Qing’er personally.
Bai Qing’er stood proudly in the sky with a frosty glare. “If any of you dare come any closer, don’t blame me for not respecting our sentimental ties from the past!”
The man’s body froze and his voice was tinged with complicated emotions, “Do you know what that man means to the Unorthodox Sect? Do you know that our entire sect has been mobilized and we have sworn to bring him back because that’s what the Grand Elder’s orders are? And do you know that because you brought him away, your father has been blamed by the Grand Elder, so his title of sect elder has been removed and he’s not allowed to leave the sect grounds?!”
“If you continue being stubborn, never mind your father – you will end up suffering the Grand Elder’s wrath as well!”
Bai Qing’er gaze shifted slightly.
But only for a moment. It turned frosty again. “Who I love, I, Bai Qing’er, will not allow him to die in front of me.”
The leader shook his head. “You’re only at Saint King now. You will not be able to block my attacks.”
Bai Qing’er did not respond and remained standing where she was.
In that moment, a terrifying aura burst forth from her.
An incredible, boundless might suddenly exploded, collapsing the heavens, suppressing the lands, drowning everything!
“Now, I can!”
Bai Qing’er’s words were like the firecrackers during the New Year, filled with true might that made one’s soul shiver.
…
Outside the mirror.
All the cultivators felt their pupils constrict.
Supreme!!!
That’s right, Bai Qing’er had reached Supreme level!
Everyone was shocked and filled with disbelief, including Ye Chen!
A 20 year old Supreme!
That was terrifying!
They knew that the fact that Bai Qing’er could become Great Emperor meant that she was certain a genius in cultivation. But nobody expected her to be talented to this extent!
Even though this amount of talent was still no match for the Heavenly Emperor.
But it was still way more than every person here, every Great Emperor here!
“She has forcibly drained all her resources to hit a high realm. If she hadn’t done this for the sake of the Heavenly Emperor, her abilities would have risen way above most Great Emperors, wouldn’t it?” a cultivator uttered in a low voice.
In that moment, even Jiang Minghuang, Gu Youwei, Mu Nanzhi, Ye Chen and others.
They all felt deep shock and the despair of being unable to fight such a powerful being.
Bai Qing’er right now was one of the most powerful Great Emperors and would not lose to them.
But if she hadn’t deliberately drained her source of power to forcibly push her cultivation to a higher level, she would definitely have gone down a path that would lead her to greater heights.
And once she became an Empress.
Besides the crazy genius Heavenly Emperor being more powerful than her.
Even the man blessed by the gods, Ye Chen, would be no match for her.
“That’s insane!” exclaimed all the cultivators silently in their hearts.
But they also couldn’t help but sigh inwardly. “Bai Qing’er had actually sacrificed so much for the Heavenly Emperor…”
