Inside the mirror.
An aura as terrifying as a flood burst forth from Bai Qing’er, rising as ferociously as a tsunami.
Countless spacetimes were shattered, time was completely broken.
“Qing’er, you…”
The leader of the Unorthodox cultivators sounded conflicted. He had clearly not expected Bai Qing’er to forcibly drain her own resources for the sake of that man.
“As long as I’m standing, you won’t be able to take him away.”
Bai Qing’er’s expression was resolute and her tone left no room for negotiation.
An icy glint flashed in the leader’s eyes. “Qing’er, you know what the Grand Elder is capable of. You’ve really offended him now!”
Just as he finished speaking.
The three Supremes put their forces together to spew out endless divine might. It shook the heavens and the earth and countless galaxies were shattered.
Bai Qing’er met them head on.
As both sides fought, the sounds cut through the skies. The soundwaves shook the sun and moon.
Countless mountain ranges turned into rivers. The rivers turned into burned soil.
The boundless murderous qi swallowed the ground and the entire space seemed like a roiling ocean of murderous qi.
The large waves of dao laws rose and fell like lava spewing from a volcano. The momentum was shocking.
In the middle of the battleground, the river of time was broken, so the random, terrifying flows of time rushed into this space to collide with the ground.
Bai Qing’er was alone against three opponents, yet she didn’t seem to be losing at all.
But she had just risen to Supreme after all, so there was only so much she could do.
The three Unorthodox cultivators initially hoped to just suppress Bai Qing’er, but after getting into a difficult fight with her, they grew angry and their intent to kill became stronger.
A fight to the death began.
In the skies, blood from Supremes never stopped spraying down.
Some belonged to the three cultivators, some belonged to Bai Qing’er.
This battle lasted a full three days. It had taken Bai Qing’er three days to finally finish off those three cultivators.
She went back to where Gu Changqing was.
But right now, she no longer looked like that elegant, refined princess carved out of valuable jade.
Her entire body was covered in wounds.
Blood kept seeping out between her fingers.
Her face was pale and her porcelain complexion was covered in many bloodied lines, as though she was about to break apart.
As she stood there, her body shook violently, as though she was a beast on the verge of dying. It was hard for her to even stand.
“Brother…Changqing…I won’t let anyone…disturb you…”
Bai Qing’er stared at the man with a gentle look in her eyes.
She uttered those words quietly, then slowly turned to look outward.
In front of her, the skies were on fire, the edge of space time was covered in divine blood, boundless murderous qi hung in the air. Beneath her feet, corpses lay across thousands and thousands of miles. But behind her was absolute peace, like it belonged to a completely different world.
Bai Qing’er’s gaze slowly grew frosty.
“Anyone who gets in my way shall die,” she said.
…
The aura around Gu Changqing grew more and more terrifying. Countless dao divine runes shot out from his body and intertwined with each other.
A terrifying pressure surged from his body and the divine runes of the Great Emperor realm slowly appeared in the sky. It proceeded to make some sort of contact and connection with him.
All of this showed that this man had come to the critical moment where he was going to solidify his cultivation.
The ability to take the next step to Emperor was within reach!
But there was always someone out there unwilling to let him have his way.
The spacetime was torn open again.
The one who had arrived was an elderly cultivators.
This elderly cultivator looked like a corpse that had just risen from some grave in hell.
His eyes were sinister, his pale face had no color whatsoever, as though he was already dead. There was no life in his eyes and no emotions either.
But this man was extremely terrifying. The might that he exuded made heaven and earth tremble, as though it wasn’t able to hold up against him at all.
Outside the mirror.
All the cultivators felt their pupils constrict!
“Half-Step to Immortality!!!”
That’s right. This was yet another Half-Step to Immortality cultivator.
An elderly monster like him would have gone through thousands of years, conquering every land they set foot in and defeating several Great Emperors. But by now, they would be reaching the limit of their lifespan and so they would rather shut themselves off and not come out.
Nobody expected that not only did the demon race have someone as powerful as this, but even the Unorthodox Sect had someone like this too.
…
Bai Qing’er stared at the elderly cultivator in the sky with deep terror in her eyes.
This was a fear that came from inside her, from her subconsciousness. She couldn’t help it.
“Grand Elder…let him off, please…”
Her lips trembled as she pleaded softly.
She knew how far she was from this Grand Elder’s powers.
“Bai Qing’er, you’re just like your father. You will never be anything great.”
The Grand Elder’s voice was distant. His gaze was dim and did not seem to hold any emotion or affection at all.
He waved his hand slightly and a spacetime cage suddenly trapped Bai Qing’er inside it.
After that, he didn’t bother to look at her anymore and stared straight at Gu Changqing.
“He is cultivating in the way of the Heavenly Book alright.”
His eyes finally lit up a little as he murmured in an icy voice, “Hoping to get to Great Emperor in such little time? That’s a very ambitious one indeed!”
“Now, die!”
The Grand Elder tapped the air with one finger.
This seemingly simple act was like a deity reaching out from the river of time.
His fingertips gathered a terrifying imperial might that shattered space time. His imperial might was like a beam that could destroy myriad paths and annihilate all laws of heaven and earth.
It gathered tremendous might mixed in with surging waves of murderous intent.
Then, it flew through the space and went straight for Gu Changqing.
“Chang…qing…”
A pained cry rang out from inside the space time cage.
Bai Qing’er moved her hands quickly in the air, as though she was invoking some secret technique.
Her soul and spirit began to burn and her aura suddenly increased.
The spacetime cage was broken from the flames of her soul.
Bai Qing’er stood proudly in the sky and raised her neck to look up into the void.
“Heaven and earth are the path, the dao, split by yin and yang. I take my flesh and blood and feed it to the demons. I shall burn up my soul and spirit. All of this for love, I will die with no regrets,” said Bai Qing’er softly.
This chant was like the crying of heaven and earth that made millions of living beings cry from how deeply grieved they were. In that moment, it actually started raining.
A tear fell from Bai Qing’er’s eye down her cheek, then into the void.
She looked back at Gu Changqing, her gaze conflicted, yet gentle and reluctant to leave, but also determined.
“Qing’er!!!”
At the other end of the river of time, far away from here, an angry, hysterical roar resounded, like an old beast trapped and cornered.
That was the roar of Bai Chonglou, who could now do nothing else besides that.
But it was too late to do anything now.
The two collided and the void exploded.
Spacetime shattered inch by inch, while the terrifying imperial divine might swallowed Bai Qing’er in a split second.
Her vitality was instantly washed away by that overpowering might.
At the same time, the finger that carried the imperial might also disappeared.
Bai Chonglou tore through the void and rushed over only to see Bai Qing’er breathe her last and collapse.
Between the light rain and the silence of the world, one lonely figure fell to the ground silently with the wind, taking her longing and reluctance to leave with her…
