“Well, but mechanical civilization… was it?”

“Yes.”

“From hearing your story, Kikori, it sounds like the ‘world of your previous life’ isn’t just one.”

“Is that so?”

“Yes. Well, that part is extremely unimportant though.”

Sitting in front of Aria as she stuffed her mouth with fried rice, Kikori ate his own portion as well.

Thinking about it like that, it started to feel like, “Well, of course.”

After all, another world existed… or rather, from Kikori’s perspective now, an otherworld where his previous life had lived existed.

Then there was nothing strange about other different otherworlds existing too.

And it was equally certain that it had nothing to do with Kikori now.

“But if reincarnators really have such special powers, it’d be nice if I had at least one, you know.”

“I don’t think having one would necessarily make you happy.”

“You think so?”

“I do. They say some of the people called heroes or geniuses in the past were previous-life holders, but most of them didn’t die good deaths.”

“…”

Even inside this house, there were clearly traces left behind by previous-life holders.

Daily items like cooking tools showed the influence especially strongly.

They surely obtained money and fame…

“Well, if I had that kind of talent… I wonder what would’ve happened. Would I still have drifted here…?”

He didn’t know.

But if he had some outstanding talent, would he not have been dragged around by memories of his previous life?

He didn’t know.

Still… it felt pointless to think about now, and Kikori sighed.

“Well, isn’t it fine? Thanks to that, Kikori got to meet me.”

“I’m grateful for that.”

Kikori smiled at Aria as she puffed out her chest proudly.

Certainly… Kikori had drifted here because he had nothing, and met Aria.

That alone could be called the greatest happiness in his current life.

“That’s right. You should be very grateful, okay?”

“Of course.”

They laughed together… and after finishing the fried rice, Aria said “Alright then” and set down her spoon.

“It seems the monster distribution has started returning to normal, but what will you do from now on, Kikori?”

“What do you mean?”

“I heard you’ll keep teaming up with Kuon, but you understand that alone won’t be enough for whatever you do going forward, right?”

“Well… yeah.”

Kuon was a priest of the Moon God.

He had what Kikori needed—things like Luna Eclipse and Heal he used in the previous battle… but what else was lacking?

Even knowing something was missing, when asked specifically what it was, it felt like everything was missing.
