After The Night Of Betrayal And Sadness!

In the light of the morning sun…
Inside a charming hotel room.
I was enjoying the soft, comfortable weight in my arms.
In my arms was her… yes, Toko Sakurajima-senpai.
Since last night, I had started calling her “Toko.”
She had a peaceful expression, breathing a cute little sleeping sigh.
The incident last night—when I learned the truth of the affair as my ex-girlfriend Karen and Toko’s ex-boyfriend Tetsuya Kamokura cheated right before our eyes.
I was the one who supported Toko’s collapsing heart.
And then, we… sought each other out, as if to fill the wounds in our hearts.
She must be savoring a pleasant sleep now, a lingering afterglow of last night.
“Toko.”
I whispered her name and gently reached out toward her white, smooth skin.
I held her in a tender embrace.
Toko opened her eyes slightly.
“Yu?”
“Good morning.”
Then, rather than a morning greeting, she dove into my chest.
“Let’s stay together forever, Yu.”
“Yeah, I’ll never let you go, Toko. We’ll be together always.”
I placed my hand on her full, firm breast—
“Ah—”
With just that, she let out a sweet sigh.
The two of us merged our bodies once again, as if to confirm our bond.
That’s right.
We overcame our painful memories and, here and now, were able to find true love.
“…Could you stop adding your own selfish narration?”
I said with a look of blatant annoyance.
If I left this guy alone, there was no telling how long he’d keep rambling on with his own wild fantasies.
“C’mon, Yu! If you made it that far, that’s exactly what you should’ve done!”
The one speaking as he sipped his morning coffee was Yota Ishida.
We were at a family restaurant along National Route 14, a major highway connecting Chiba and Tokyo. It was 9:00 AM, and we were two guys loitering there.
“Hey, you’re talking about the Toko-senpai, okay? You think things go that easily?”
I spoke with a pout, and Ishida raised his left hand, waving it side-to-side—the universal sign for “Not a chance.”
“Even if it’s impossible, a man’s gotta be assertive and go for it! What was that you said? You stayed like that for a while with a crying Toko-senpai, watched the apartment until the last train was gone, and then just sent her home? What the hell is that? Are you a virgin high schooler or something?”
“Shut up! I’m not some scumbag who takes advantage of a girl’s emotional vulnerability to make her mine!”
Well, honestly, if I could have done it, I would have. But if I had tried something like that, Toko-senpai would have undoubtedly rejected me harshly. She’s that kind of woman.
“Man, you missed the chance of a lifetime. If you’d played it right, it could have turned into the story I just told.”
“You have a vivid imagination. You should become a novelist or a screenwriter.”
“Oh, that’s an idea. Once this is all settled, maybe I’ll post this story on a web novel site.”
“You do that and I’m seriously cutting ties with you.”
“Don’t worry. I’ll only turn it into a novel if it has a happy ending,” Ishida said with a laugh.
This guy… is he actually worried about me? I’m starting to think he’s just enjoying the drama.
“So, what are you going to do from here?” Ishida asked, his face suddenly turning serious.
“What do you mean?”
“You’re finally going to execute it, right? The ‘Dump them in the worst way possible when they’re most in love with you’ operation.”
“I guess…”
I thought about it while drinking my coffee.
The plan to tell them it’s over at the height of their infatuation and spend the night with someone else.
With Toko-senpai, I feel like that’s actually possible. From what I’ve seen, Kamokura is head-over-heels for her.
But for me… can I really make Karen fall for me so much that she “absolutely never wants to leave”? Judging by the vibe of that last phone call, her feelings already seem to be drifting away. It’s hard enough to win back someone who’s leaving, but making her like me “the most ever”? That seems impossible.
“It seems Toko-senpai is thinking up a strategy right now, but…”
“What, you’re leaving it to someone else? It’s your life too.”
“What choice do I have? If I knew how to make girls fall for me that easily, I wouldn’t have struggled this much from the start!”
As I snapped back irritably, Ishida leaned back and stretched in his seat.
“True. ‘How to make someone never want to leave you’ isn’t exactly a simple thing. I mean, if that were possible, couples wouldn’t ever break up in this world.”
He makes it sound so easy. But… he’s exactly right.
And that’s not the only thing I have to worry about.
I have to be chosen as the “partner Toko-senpai spends the night with at the final, decisive moment.”
Even if it were just one of those goals, isn’t this basically an ultra-hard mode “impossible game”?
