Confirming The Abilities

“With this, I can see anywhere in the world.”

Wow… that’s truly amazing. As the realization slowly sank in that this was reality, I began to understand just how extraordinary each ability the goddess casually used really was.

“What’s being shown right now is the statue I cleaned earlier, right? It was a divine statue?”

“That’s right. Each god can only drop one divine statue into the mortal world, and it’s something very important to us. Some, like the Goddess of Life or the Goddess of Love, have their statues enshrined in churches, yet mine was thrown away in a place like this… and it’s all because of that foolish God of Destruction…!”

Perhaps remembering what the God of Destruction had done in the past, Seremees-sama’s expression suddenly filled with intense anger. Seeing that, I instinctively realized I needed to change the subject quickly and opened my mouth.

“U-um! Should the divine statue be moved somewhere else?”

Talking about the God of Destruction seemed to be a forbidden topic for Seremees-sama… they really didn’t seem to get along.

“Well… eventually I would like it properly enshrined in a church, but I want to avoid other gods or their servants realizing that statue is genuine. So for now it can stay there. Once we find a good place, I’ll ask you to move it.”

“Understood.”

“Let’s leave the discussion here. There are many things I would like you to do, Luca, but for now you may act as you please. You gained power because you have things you want to do, right?”

“Really!? Thank you very much…!”

First, I wanted to return to the royal capital I had rushed out of and aim to become a high-ranked adventurer. Then I could build a foundation to help many people. After all, unless you became a high-ranked adventurer, you couldn’t accept difficult requests.

And there was also the curse that destroyed my village. I was almost certain it was the work of monsters, but the words of the investigation team member who said there were no traces of monsters still lingered in my mind. Only high-ranked adventurers could confront curses, so I wanted to reach that rank for that reason as well.

“Luca, to return to the mortal world from this Divine Domain, you simply need to use Divine Domain Interference. Think of it as practice and give it a try.”

“Understood. Are there any tips?”

“Well… what I often hear is that it becomes easier if you imagine stepping into another dimension right beside you.”

“Another dimension beside me…”

Even hearing that, it was difficult. Maybe it was like something next to me that I couldn’t see. For now, I’d try imagining it.

The Divine Domain and the mortal world existed side by side with only a slight difference between them, and I had gained the ability to cross that boundary. I was currently in the Divine Domain, and I wanted to return to the mortal world.

As I continued expanding that image in my mind, I felt a strange sensation as if my body became lighter, almost as if it were floating, so I took one step forward—

—and in an instant I was back at the stream behind the mountain.

When I slowly looked around, the scenery was exactly the same as before I entered the Divine Domain. Surely everything that just happened wasn’t a dream… with that uneasy thought, I tried speaking to Seremees-sama in my mind.

‘Seremees-sama, I’ve safely returned to the mortal world.’

‘Yes, I was just watching through the water mirror.’

Oh! She replied. Which meant…

“That wasn’t a dream! I really did become a servant of a god. I actually became stronger. This is incredible, I’m so happy.”

‘Luca, make sure to test whether you can use the servant abilities.’

‘Understood!’

I energetically replied to Seremees-sama’s words and immediately decided to try using the power called Divine Power Manipulation.

I could use any elemental magic, right? Which one should I try? Since I had never been able to use magic before, whichever one I used would be my first experience.

…Come to think of it, if the reason I couldn’t use magic was because of the curse, maybe I could have used it before I was twelve. It was said that children using magic could negatively affect their growth, so I had never tried it.

If I had tried even once as a child, maybe I could have realized I was cursed… but there was no point saying that now.

I slapped my cheeks lightly to refocus, then decided to try the fire magic I had always admired the most.

Circulate the magical power within the body—in my case, divine power—and release it outside the body. Then transform that released power into a phenomenon through mental imagery.

“Fireball.”

When I cast the Fireball whose method I understood perfectly from admiration alone—the large fireball that appeared in my palm shot toward the stream at tremendous speed and sent water splashing everywhere.

“Seriously… what is this power?”

The stream that held memories of my father had been reshaped by my Fireball. I never imagined it would be powerful enough to carve into the ground.

‘You used it successfully.’

‘…Isn’t it too strong?’

‘Divine Power Manipulation can only reproduce what magic is capable of, but on the other hand it means the maximum potential of magic can always be produced. I think your Fireball could become even stronger.’

Hearing Seremees-sama’s words, I moved a little away from the stream and tried all the elemental magic. As a result, the large tree I used as a target barely had its roots left in the ground, while its thick trunk had turned into scattered pieces of wood.

“I can’t believe I did that.”

‘Luca, that’s amazing. You even know all the elemental magic.’

‘I couldn’t use it, but I was interested, so I studied from books at the Adventurers’ Guild.’

People laughed and said it was pointless for someone useless like me to read those books, but I was glad I hadn’t stopped studying back then… my past self did well.

‘Next I’ll try the sword.’

I had already tried a test swing earlier, so it would be nice if there were animals around. Thinking that, I walked through the mountain for a while when I suddenly heard rustling grass. The next moment, I caught sight of a massive brown shape at the edge of my vision.

That was a boar… no!? It was a Big Boar!!
