Qi & unlocking
- Premium chapters now cost 5 qi instead of 10, half price across every novel on SkyDemonOrder.
- Lifetime purchases are retired and no longer sold. If you already own one, your access stays permanent: nothing is revoked, nothing expires.
- Return of the Mount Hua Sect keeps its subscription exactly as it works today, the one exception to qi-only unlocking.

SDO Originals
- Authors can now publish their own original novels on SkyDemonOrder — you keep every right to your work.
- We announced our first writing competition: $500 / $250 / $100 prizes, announced as running July 6, 2026 through January 30, 2027. Update, August 2026: it has since been rescheduled, and entries now open October 5, 2026 and close April 30, 2027. See the competition rules page for the current ruleset and the full changelog.
Buy once, own it
- Lifetime purchases: buy a series once and own access to all of its paid chapters forever — $5 to $40 depending on length.
- Premium Complete novels: finished novels you can buy once and read in full. They're now flagged with a "Premium Complete" badge, filterable on the Projects page, and featured in a "Premium Complete Novels" row on the homepage.
